It sucks Soria had to pitch, but we lost Davis and Hoch to injuries, so not much of a choice right now. Strahm is starting to get some work and obviously Herrera would have pitched the 9th for the save.

Who else is Ned suppose to use in the 8th? Wang? Flynn? Moylan? Do we really feel more comfortable with any of those guys??

At this point, I would think Pounders would make a lot of sense as the 8th inning guy vs. Soria (or any of the other options).

Apparently, Edgar doesn't agree.

Pounders isn't even on the team anymore, was sent down for BB. Plus, he didn't exactly light the world on fire in his bullpen stint here.

I get the criticism for Soria, I don't disagree, but with the injuries and ineffectiveness of other relievers, what other options does Ned have at this point?

Good point, but at this stage, I'd much rather see Moylan out there than Soria. Soria has no out pitch. Nothing. At least Moylan has a funky delivery. Yeah, I know, when your best attribute is a funky delivery, that ain't saying much, but I've seen enough of Soria to know that he just doesn't have it. Hopefully, in the offseason he can work on SOMETHING to make himself more effective as I fear we're stuck with a rather large commitment to the guy. But for now, I'll use Moylan and take my lumps with him.
