Ty Law signs with the Jets
Ty Law signs with the Jets
Well it's finally over. The Jets and Law have agreed to a contract, but it's not going to be finalized until Law passes a physical. |

I really stopped caring about two weeks ago. With the Jets or not, we're still going to beat them opening day. Also, the new offense they're running is more of a down the field passing game. With noodle armed Chad Pennington, that fits right into our hands. Dude can't even throw it 40 yards, and the season starts in 5 weeks.

Also, our offense is not going to be all that different from last season --- we're most definitely a running team, that won't change with Heimerdinder on board. What will change is that we'll go for the jugular when the opportunities are there. That basically means that if a running play were to be called, and Coles is in single-coverage, Pennington has the option to audible and go for a fade pattern or deep, depending on what part of the field we're on. We'll also be utitlizing the TE more as a passing threat (think Frank Wychek), with the addition of Doug Jolley (stone-hands Becht in now in Tampa Bay ). As far as predictions for week 1, is still too early for that IMO. But I'll be back with one in the next few weeks. I'd also like to invite any of you to come check out jetsinsider.com -- the best Jets fan site on the net. If anyone wants to talk football or about week 1 matchups, feel free to stop by and lurk, or better, sign up and talk some smack. |

The Jets have as good a chance at beating us opening day than we did the Broncos last year on opening day...none.

I know where you're coming from though. I thought we had a chance too last year vs. the Broncos. But opening day, home opener, all the hype...it was all too much for us to over come. As it will be for the Jets. And BTW, this is Pennington's first game at Arrowhead...best of luck.

I am betting that first game is really close, it will probably be decided by a field goal in the last two minutes. I hope Tynes is more up to the task than he was last year.

CHIEFS AGREE TO TERMS WITH TE MIKE KALLFELZ Aug 06, 2005, 10:49:26 AM Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Saturday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with free agent TE Mike Kallfelz. As per Chiefs policy, no further terms of the agreement were made available. Kallfelz (6-4, 272) originally entered the NFL with the Chiefs as a rookie free agent this spring. He played in 38 games (33 starts) at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. He caught 38 passes for 517 yards (13.6 avg.) with four touchdowns. He earned second-team All-Empire Conference honors as a senior when he recorded 13 receptions for 151 yards (11.6 avg.) with two TDs. The Syracuse, New York native prepped at Oswego High School in Oswego, New York. Kallfelz registered a team-high 98 tackles and 6.0 sacks to earn All-OHSL honors and All-Central New York. To make room for Kallfelz on the roster, the Chiefs released TE Willie Walden (6-7, 278). |
