Home theater HD question...

I have an HDTV with only one composit (RGB) input. I have an Xbox with the HD package (HD outs), a DVDRW with DVD outs, and sometime in the future will have an HD tuner with HD... now, I'll obviously need to route the composit cables into something and THEN to the TV, but I'm having a little difficulty finding something with three composit inputs.

So I'm looking for some type of amp, tuner, whatever I need in the $500 or less range that has multiple (three or more) composit inputs and at least one composit out.

Anyone? Anyone?

They make component video switchers now, but I don't know if they will switch digital audio as well.

As for a receiver under 500 that has 3 (haven't seen more) component video inputs? Good luck. After a quick scan of a few online stores, they will run around 800-1k.

Your best best is to get a comp video switcher at Radio Shack.

No HDMI/DVI, unfortunately. It's an older model TV (which is why it was fairly cheap and why I was able to afford it).

Any brands for a component video switcher to look out for?

absolute BEST bet:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...onics&v=glance

very solid sound, and you aren't going to find anything better for the money. I'd line it up against just about any home-theatre-in-a-box that costs 3x the $$.

3 component inputs as well~

As a former Radio Shack employee (thank god for the former) as I am best aware they don't sell component video switches there, only composite.

As far as an amp or switch goes, here is what I would recommend that you go for with your budget in mind

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Pioneer-VSX-...QQcmdZViewItem

This should accomodate all of your present needs as well as allow you some wiggle room for the future. It doesn't have any HDMI switching, but you don't have an HDMI TV. Any receivers that do start at 7-800 dollars currently.

Here is thread over at the AVSforum regarding switchers:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...mponent+switch

If you have a hometheater setup and want to use this as an opportunity to upgrade you're reciever you might check out the Denon AVR-2805.

You might be able to find one cheaper on ebay or another site.

I'm very seriously debating about this one... the Denon someone else mentioned is very nice, but with Christmas and some other things that have come up in the past couple of days I have to adjust my budget for such things...

Yamaha YHT home theatre systems (aka ht in a box) includes a high-powered amp w/ HD component ins/outs + fibre audio. I have a YHT 900... love it.
