But yes, alternate materials could also be good. There's no reason why we couldn't make coins out of cheaper and more environmentally friendly materials. A penny made out of leather? Lincoln would think that's pretty cool. Especially if it was shaped so that it could also be used as a bridle.

but then i guess it would kinda make for an awkward purchase at the truck stop bathroom condom dispenser. and tipping at restaurants would be kinda weird. also you'd have crackheads trying to buy 40s with used ones. Not a great idea... just has a good ring to it.. Coindom.

Yes, but what a great conversation starter it would be if you (as a single young person attracted to women) tipped a cute waitress with a coindom. It would give you an opportunity if she's interested, but deniability if she's not.
