Too be honest, we shoulda stuck with Huard last year

Ok this is a shoulda thread. I know it's pointless, but, imo, Im not upset that we decided to go with Huard this year because he is the best man for the job at this point. And quite frankly, the Chiefs really didn't have any other choice.

but I really think he was the guy we shoulda stuck with last year too. Had we kept him in, I think we possibly coulda won 2 more games.

Not saying Trent was bad, but Huard had the hot hand last year. A mistake the coaching staff made was taking out the guy who was playing well.

Had he played a whole season, would really really know what we have now. And think about it, he'd probably be a lot further ahead this year.

I like how Herm said they would switch to Huard in the playoff game if Green struggled, yet it never happened. Wouldn't have mattered anyways since the receivers couldn't catch shit. Maybe they should have put some young receivers out there who were hungry for the chance...

Im not sure why everyone was so high on Croyle? It's been blatantly obvious the kid is pretty raw, and it's been that way since last year. Huard is definately not the answer either. I have a feeling that DH will get injured pretty quickly, and then we will have Croyle, which will be the Chiefs own version of Jake Plummer. Pick after pick after pick 6. What ever the reason, at least the coahes and the fans are starting to come around. Maybe next season the Chiefs will come around and work on offensive line and perhaps a QB.

How does one go about becoming "not raw"?

Well, practice and exp. of course. However, depending on the player (can anyone say Junior Siavvi?) one may never get passed being "raw". This is my prediction for Croyle. I don't believe that he actually has the tools to become a good QB, yeah he has an arm, but the arm is secondary at that position, you need to be a quick thinker and have the ability to make good judgement calls, which have been shown over and over and over again that he just wont break that bad habbit of trying to force the pass.

If I am wrong, I will happily eat my crow, but I have been saying from the very beggining that Huard is a career backup for a reason and that Croyle is not the answer to the QBotF question.

You could very well be right about Croyle. If you are, wouldn't it make sense to know NOW vs. later?

Furthermore, if we already KNOW Huard is a career backup for a reason, what is the harm in playing Croyle? At the very worst, he tanks and we PROVE DEFINITIVELY that you're correct in your assessment. At best, he proves you wrong.
