Why wouldn't I want my team to play KU? Win or lose it would be a great game. "Why" you ask? "Is it because of the match up of KU's bigs against WSU's Guard play?" "no" I reply. Well gather around my pretties and let me tell you why. I'd welcome it because unlike many, many Jayhawk fans I don't tie my personal self worth up with how well my College Basketball team is doing. The Epic/Monstrous psychological meltdown of Jayhawk Nation in the event of a loss to WSU and the prospect of WSU having a perfect season on top of that would be so delicious as to defy description. I would feed off the souls of the dead and wounded here, at Arrowhead at my tailgate, at phognet and generally everywhere KU basketball fans hide for years to come. That my friends is why I want to see them play and that is why last year Self came out and pre-emptively said he'd never schedule WSU.

The sweet irony in all of this is KU has much to lose in a huge basketball game against WSU on a National Stage with Title implications on the line. You know it, I know it and the basketball world knows it. I just want the NCAA to set it up for maximum drama so that both teams are playing well and have earned the right to play.

Watching WSU having the chance to pull the pants down on Bill Self and lay that kind of embarrassment on him to cap an undefeated season or to go on to a National title would be like Christmas for Shocker Nation. My fellow Wheatshock fans would feast upon the glory of a National Title whilst buying every rubber chicken from Texas to Iowa and painting it Crimson and Blue.

The shift in the National paradigm, the media love, the bragging rights at every kegger and tailgate for years?!! It would be glorious and epic to finally be handed a pin to pop the ever so fragile psychological bubble that KU nation lives in. It would be a feast and also a nightmare that KU nation might never recover from... at least in our lifetimes. Oh they'd pretend they were over it but they wouldn't be. My God, it would be orgasmic and I'd be there to witness the whole God dammed thing.

So yeah, I say Let's play one.
