They are Fox announcers unaffiliated with either team. They are rooting for a close compelling game for ratings. A Royal blowout late and no one outside of KC is watching FS1

I'm still concerned with his overall production (he's wavered a couple of times in this game as well), but I will always be thankful that Moore was able to land him for Johnahnaothon Sanchize |

But Escobar is kind of a mental midget when it comes to hitting so if it would hurt his feelings for him to bat 9th then so be it. Gordon has .400 OBP years ago I argued our best hitter (Gordon) shouldn't bat leadoff because none of our other stiffs could drive him in Now? We have a great 2, 3, 4, 5 so I'd prefer to have a guy who gets on at a 40% clip at leadoff as opposed to Alcides "I make Salvy look patient" Escobar. But if it causes Escobar to be all somber and unhappy at 9th and he regresses to a .230 hitter then fine, keep him at leadoff. |

Guthrie has mediocre stuff with very mediocre secondary pitches. He's a solid #4 or #5 because he has a great mental game and he doesn't let 1 bad pitch effect his game. He's an innings eater that can keep you in the game. At this point, his 2 seamer might be a B- pitch. His changeup is a C at best. He's a guy who gets you through a season who ideally shouldn't be pitching meaningful October games. |

Guthrie should pitch today until his arm falls off ... or the Tigers get within 3.
Love to see him go at least 8. |
