I figured I would start a thread for this and see what happens....there seemed to be quite a few viewers on the board for this show the past few weeks.....I like the direction the show is taking so far......episode 3 tonight at 7 central on ABC....

I got a pretty heavy theory here. Ancient Egyptians always wore eyeliner. Any chance Richard Alpert could be deemed by the show as "the last Pharoh?"

I was just thinking about it a little bit too and came in here to post something.

Jacob was the Pharoh that was buried in the temple and Richard Alpert is his eternal protector?

I forgot to add that the Islands "magical" qualities are making Jacob "alive" just like Charlie/Christian etc.

Alpert visited Locke as a child right? He seemed to know more during that visit than he does on the island in the late 70's last night.

Lets establish a Richard Alpert Timeline.

Early 1950's - Locke Visits Richard Alpert on Island
Mid 1950's - Richard Alpert visits hospital where Locke was born
Late 1950's or Early 60's - Alpert Visits Locke at his Foster Home

Early 70's - Sawyer meets Alpert and lets him know he killed his men
Mid 70's - Alpert meets Kid Benjamin Linus in the forest

Early 2000's - Alpert recruits Juliet off Island
Mid 2000's - Where main storyline takes place....also when Alpert gives Locke the compass to hand back to him when they meet the next time.

And FWIW, it had been over 20 years since he met the Kid Locke, so maybe he had forgotten all the details over that time.

How do you think they get back to 'real' time, now that everyone is on the island. Obviously Sawyer Jack and everybody are not there when ben arrives to the island as a kid with his dad. Do you think they are just somewhere else on the island when Kid ben comes, or they figure out a way to get back to 'present' time as they know it?

I thought the same thing when they mentioned the eyeliner... Alpert is an immortal pharaoh...

ANUBIS

I'm not sure which Egyptian God this is, but he looks more like the staue than Anubis I think. Notice the hat on the top statue, Anubis doesn't wear one in any of the pics I can find.

The statue looks like it is holding something in its right hand...maybe something similar to the symbol in the hand on the last pic of your post? That symbol was on the necklace that Amy had from her husband...it must have some kind of importance?

Im getting help from Lostpedia

1954 - Locke Visits Richard Alpert on Island and returns the compass to hime
1956 - Richard Alpert visits hospital where Locke was born

1961 - Alpert Visits Locke at his Foster Home

1972- Alpert (unseen) attempts to bring teen Locke to camp ("Cabin Fever")

Early 70's - Sawyer meets Alpert and lets him know he killed his men
Mid 70's - Alpert meets Kid Benjamin Linus in the forest

Early 2000's - Alpert recruits Juliet off Island

2004 - Alpert gives Locke Sawyer's file
2005 - Alpert gives compass to Locke

Do you think Locke will be the next Alpert? It seems to me that is kind of how it is being setup, is Locke immortal? Survived a fall from being thrown out a window by his dad. Survived Ben shooting him, comes back to life after ben kills him in the real world. He gets hurt like every other episode, and nothing seems to shake him up, and he heals like the freakin wolverine. Maybe that is why everyone says he is so special, and Locke just hasnt realized it yet.

on another thought, do we know for sure who Locke's mom and dad are yet?? If not maybe he is Amy's baby? The only baby to be born on the island, maybe that could be why he is so special?

His mom was a teenager, I think her dad was an older guy, maybe one of teachers or a boss. Remember when Alpert came to his birth?
