The SNL Thread
I've been considering doing this for a while, so here goes. A thread to discuss anyone & anything relating to the show.

They keep a pretty tight lid on all images & apparently stay after youtube as well, so those kinds of things might be a 'lil hard to come by, but oh well.

Pretty much everyone here seems to be a fan of it on some level, so it might be kinda fun.

Its as close to Cant Miss Television as there is for me.

I don't recall Radner.

I'd probably sub in Maya Rudolph or Molly Shannon in for Radner.

I'd definitely sub in Dana Carvey for Hader, and while Farley was epic, I'm tempted to sub him out for Martin Short.

I stand behind my selections, but approve your replacements as close runners-up, only Carvey/Meyers is a close call for 1st runner-up. And though Martin rocks, I'm going off SNL material, not entire body of work [Eddie Murphy, Julia Louise -Dreyfus, Christopher Guest, Adam Sandler, Gilbert Godfried, etc.]. Instead of Martin, I'd place Lovitz as the runner-up to Farley, though I'm not a huge fan of the guy IRL.

Now if Jiminy Glick had been an SNL character, . . .

What Farley lacked in classical acting acumen, he made up in funny.

He might be the single most naturally funny guy in American history. Even the worst, most ill-conceived sketches had me chuckling somewhere if Farley was involved. And the best sketches are among the funniest sketches of SNL all-time.

I absolutely have to highlight this. It's a skit they cut from this week's SNL with Kevin Hart/Sia.



Kyle Mooney is absolutely incredible in this. Maybe the finest piece of comedy acting I've seen on a technical level in a decade. Am I crazy for saying that?

The piece as a whole is very well written, and the production is great. But Kyle Mooney is just a master at inventing a character and inhabiting his skin. He is absolutely perfect for this role.
