Watching the highlights gets me excited for the season all over again.

How many Chiefs are we thinking make the top 100 this year? Last year we had five in Charles (8), Hali (37), Berry (50), Houston (57), and DJ (64).

Charles and Houston are locks. Both could justifiably be named in the top 10 but I'm guessing they'll both be snubbed by more marketable names like Watt and Bell/Lynch. I'm still thinking top 20 for JC and Houston, though.

Hali won't make it along with DJ and Berry for obvious reasons.

I think this will be the year Poe finally cracks the lineup. Maybe somewhere in the 80s.

Hudson might be deserving but **** that guy.

Maclin will likely be named somewhere in the 60s, I'd guess..?

Sean Smith could squeak on if they put a scrub like Julian Edelman on there but I highly doubt it. He'd need another season like he had last year to hope for that kind of recognition.

Anyway, thoughts?

OTWP, that rant had nothing to do with the JC thing lol... got carried away somehow.

But yeah, guess my JC rant is just a symptom of how tired I am of the national media ignoring this team... in years past I get it, of course, we sucked out loud... but ANY other NFL team accomplishes what this one has the last two years and they'd be everyones ****ing darkhorse darling.

Seriously, they WOULD.

But nope, not KC... for some reason beyond its control people hate talking about or even considering the Chiefs for anything other than nothing.

That was my point about Charles. When the Chiefs (team) do something to put themselves on the map, the players will get recognized for what they are. Until then it's not going to happen no matter how good they are to us fans.

Take the Royals for example, World Series appearance and they now have national attention. I can listen to shows on ESPN radio and those talking heads will actually talk about any storyline that hits the Royals camp. If the Chiefs do something similar, they will get the same treatment, it's that simple. But nobody gives a rats ass about a middle of the pack 10-6/9-7 team that's loaded with talent trying to get over the hump until they actually do it. Teams like the Texans and the Rams are in the same boat as the Chiefs.

Yeah, your point stands in strong relief... these guys need to make it happen this year, make a noise so loud that no one can ignore it.

There truly are no excuses right now, the talent is there to do it and put this team back on the map.

Here's some excuses the Alex homers already have in mind

1. Maclin still needs to learn this offense and Reid's playbook, it's not a high power offense like it was in Philly

2. What do you expect from a 3rd rookie WR? Of course he wasn't going to be great in first season in the pros, not Alex's fault he couldn't score a touchdown.

3. We could have won that game if Reid made the right call. Alex was ordered to throw a screen pass. Reid calls the plays.

4. Charles only scored 4 touchdowns, if he was to get that fifth one we could have won. Alex Smith threw a perfect pass. Charles just ran out of gas and passed out. His fault for not training hard.

They may make excuses at their own peril.

Third year is supposed to be the big jump for all wco QB's, its been that way for decades... then add in this loaded team and no one will want to hear it.

top 100 players is a waste of time. I can see the staff meeting now:

Q: "how do we kill time between the draft and training camp?"

A: "Hey, I know! how about the players vote on who's the best?"

"yah, great idea, that will kill at least a month or two! Because, ya know, we gotta have these assclown-talking-head baffoons (aka studio personalities) yapping it up all the time on NFLN!"

I hadn't been keeping up with this because it's been pretty boring, but:

90. Michael Bennett
89. Greg Olsen
88. Glover Quin
87. Demarcus Ware
86. Eric Weddle
85. Golden Tate
84. Terrell Suggs
83. Maurkice Pouncey
82. Haloti Ngata
81. Darren Sproles

80. Arian Foster
79. Marshal Yanda
78. Ryan Kerrigan
77. Matt Ryan
76. Sen'Derrick Marks
75. Mike Evans
74. Muhammed Wilkerson
73. Cam Newton
72. Kyle Williams
71. Julius Peppers

70. Tamba Hali
69. Bobby Wagner
68. Larry Fitzgerald
67. Tashaun Gipson
66. Deandre Levy
65. Justin Forsett
64. Charles Woodson
63. Jerry Hughes
62. Adrian Peterson
61. Jeremy Maclin

Got a couple Chiefs so far. Hali is definitely too high but his video is highly entertaining. He agrees that he shouldn't have made the list this year and it's funny to see his energy pre-game (maybe mid-game). I'll be sad to see him leave, however he does so. Here's his vid:

Golden Tate, Muhammed Wilkerson and Bobby Wagner could definitely be higher.

I'm not sure my list would even include Larry Fitzgerald, Tamba Hali, Justin Forsett or Ryan Kerrigan.

Adrian Peterson took a hell of a slide. It was a bit similar to Peyton's 50-spot slide after he didn't play for an entire season.

I think they got Forsett right. I would've dropped Fitz down into the 80s. Hali wouldn't make my list.

JJ Watt is the best player in the NFL. I don't care about the positional value. It's best player and that's what JJ is.

He had 20.5 sacks, 10 batted passes, 4 forced fumbles, a defensive TD return, a safety and caught 3 TD's.

No player came close to having a season that impressive.

I agree, but he still won't be #1. It will go to a QB probably named Aaron Rodgers.

Based strictly on his pass rush prowess, Houston should be top 15. Once you figure in that in coverage, he only gave up 7 catches for 45 yards all year. He didn't get a single penalty all year. He only missed 4 tackles all year and was the highest graded run defender at OLB and it would be unfair if he doesn't make the top ten.

IMO he should be in the top 5.

On to Kelce...

Kelce should fit in between 40-60. Based on just his receiving numbers in 2014, which ranked 5th at TE with 862 yards, being ranked that high is probably just being a Chiefs homer....but then you have to figure in a few factors.

1. He didn't start the whole year because he was still recovering from knee surgery.
2. He was the highest graded run blocking tight end.
3. The team adding speed on the outside should open up chunk plays for Kelce going forward.

He should be the 3rd tight end on the list.

Heres the list of backs who've managed 5 yards per carry for five consecutive years... Barry Sanders, Jim Brown.

Thats IT.

Peterson, McCoy and whoever else all of these tards have put forth these last 3-4 years?... they PALE in comparison, its not even CLOSE.

Jamaal is the best running back in the National Football League, period.

McCoy will NEVER be able to gain yards after contact like JC, Peterson will NEVER outrun someone with the angle like JC consistently does.

And the best part is that our team has him for atleast his next two prime years... all of you **g "writers" out there better get it right this year.

Kansas City.

Jamaal Charles.

Scariest back in the league.

Peterson is not overhyped but I've been saying for years that Lashaun McCoy gets rated ahead of Jamal Charles because of east coast bias. McCoy is an outstanding back but Charles is way more talented.
