Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Good to know the chiefs are in good company with franchises that haven't won squat since bell bottoms were in fashion.

Sanchez, Tebow and Cassel? That almost makes me feel better about our QB situation.

It'd be a gutsy move...but you'd be hedging your bet in one draft and your QBs would be set.

Did you notice that all these "rumblings" are from FOUR DAYS AGO....

:

If they thought they could get Foles, they wouldn't have agreed to a deal to trade for Alex Smith. Common sense, not even once.

From 4 days ago

USA Today’s Mike Garafolo, who first reported the Kansas City Chiefs would be interested in trading for Nick Foles, has followed up with news that a potential deal was discussed with the Eagles last week. Don’t get too excited though. The Eagles informed the Chiefs they intend to keep the second-year quarterback.

It’s no surprise the topic would be broached at a time when NFL executives are camped in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine, and there is no indication as to how serious talks were. That said, it doesn’t sound like they were all that substantial from the Eagles’ point of view:

The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because the conversations weren't to be discussed publicly, said the Eagles conveyed to the Chiefs what they've been saying through the media – they like Foles and plan on giving him a chance to compete with Michael Vick for the starting job.

Sanchez alone has more playoff wins than the Chiefs franchise since 1970. And Tebow has more playoff wins than the Chiefs have in 20 years. I don't think we can make fun of anybody's QB situation.

Actually with Tebow and Manning Denver has been to the elite 8 the last two years. Meanwhile the chiefs are 2-14 with Alex Smith as their QB and no 2nd round pick!! LOL

What the **** are you talking about? Frank didn't break the Alex Smith trade rumors if that is what you are alluding too....or are you just talking out of your ass, again?

Feel free to post links about this Foles trade....here, I will go bump the thread so you can drop these links in there.

The 1st overall pick is clearly on the market. This trade tells me they've got bites for it. And will recoup whatever compensation they gave

I really really hope this is true.
