Chiefs The First String OL

Rewatched the first preseason game, first couple of drives.

I know it was just a snapshot, but all of our OL performed very well, with one exception:

Brandon Albert: Total domination. He was never beat in either the run or the pass. The Chiefs surprisingly didn't run behind him too much but he beat every passrusher. He didn't fall for any stunts and was in control of the blind side the whole game.

Ryan Lilja: Steady and solid. Got turned aorund a little bit on a stunt but otherwise, his run blocking was above average with some push. His pass protection was also pretty solid with no real weaknesses.

Rodney Hudson: Pretty good. His line calls were strong, nobody was really out of position but the Dolphins didn't bring any fancy rushes either. Hudson, however, slightly struggled against the bigger Dan Williams. The Chiefs left Hudson to take on Williams one-on-one most snaps, and he had trouble getting push against him in the run game, and was beat like a drum once trying to keep him out of the pocket. I don't mind Hudson giving up ground a little, but getting beat obviously is bad. His runblocking, outside of Williams, was strong. He did get plenty of push against everybody else. But going forward, we might want to give Hudson a little more help against large nose tackles.

Jon Asamoah: Total domination. The Chiefs ran right behind him more than any other OL with profit every single time. He and Winston created monster-truck sized holes in the run game, and there was profit behind them every time. Asamoah sealed his edge, ran to the second level extremely well, and protected quite well also against Darnell Dockett, who to me looked like he wasn't really giving it his all. But if that's the case, Asamoah should dominate, and he did.

Eric Winston: Tape on Winston from this game was so boring, because there was nothing to report. The Chiefs never ran off the right edge, and the Cards never brought serious heat his way. So he just faced off against one guy at a time, and he was never really challenged. His run blocking was, of course, excellent.

Yeah, the Dolphins failed to bring any pressure Friday night

yea but who is the Cardinals best pass rusher

can you even name the guy? Joey Porter retired I don't even think they have a guy that can rush lol

I'll be more impressed when they actually shut down a front 7 that is a legitimate pass rushing threat. That Cards front 7 might be the worst in the NFL.

Calais Campbell. The Cardinals actually have a good D-Line in Campbell-Dan Williams-Darnell Dockett
