Cool that displays the elite quickness and change of direction speed the guy has.

Gaines held Emmanuel Sanders in check last year and got abused on that rep by Thomas.

Not many #3 or #4 corners are going to be able to keep up...

Probably, but remember that quickness and hand-fighting is just as important for beating the press as raw strength.

And if DAT does manage to beat the press, it's all over but the tears.

I've always been fascinated watching the little WRs run the press drills. The things they do with their feet and their hands are just so critical in defeating/setting up the DB. It's just game of chess and they're trying moves and counter-moves to get free of those DBs. It's like watching the OT/DE matchups but in miniature and at really high speeds.

If he can even break the press 1/2 the time, his quickness in space will make teams have to think long and hard about doing it. They may prefer just give him a little cushion and drive on the routes when thrown.

I'm ****in' stoked to see DAT this year. This is the PERFECT system for him to excel in. Maybe aside from Philly. Chip Kelly used him perfectly at Oregon. If he can run routes and stop on a dime he's gonna be a stud in open space. Maybe those ridiculous DeSean Jackson comparisons could actually come alive somewhat.

You hit on some points I was gonna bring up in terms of acceleration and long speed. Pressing a 4.3 guy is extremely risky because if he's gone, nobody's catching him and if he makes a play on a safety, he's in the endzone.

I'm sure that teams will try to press the shit out of him the first few weeks until he proves he can beat the press, though...gotta earn that cushion.

I'm really excited this season for DAT. Healthy and should have impact every game whether PR or in the slot. I'm hoping he develops into a Dante Hall type

I'm sure if the rolls were reversed with Gaines RUNNING forward and KNOWING where he was going and DAT PEDDLING backwards and NOT KNOWING where the receiver is going , you would have the same results. They r both very fast. Think about it for a minute.
