2013 World Series. Two wins from another World Series Championship
2014 NLCS. Three wins from another WS appearance
2015 Clinched Central Division title and Home Field advantage in the playoffs. First team in MLB to win 100 games since 2011.

  • Made the postseason 11 times in the last 15 seasons.
  • Only 1 losing season since 2000.
  • Reached the World Series 4 times since 2004 and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.
  • Made the NLCS 9 times including the last 4 years 2011-2014
  • Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.
  • 65 post season wins since 2004. 22+ wins more than any other team.

Why not? After all he has played a whole 6 games at 1B on the minor leagues?

I heard that Piscotty did play 1B at Stanford. Stanford is usually a top college team. Hamas's report of his "hands of stone" has me concerned. But, if he can hit with some SLG% he would be an upgrade over Reynolds.

Remember that positional WAR is calculated by results, not luck. Thus, while Grichuk has a high WAR total, he also has a .378 BABIP (completely unsustainable), strikes out 31% of the time, and walks 6%.

I've said for a long time that I love Lance Lynn because he gets guys to miss his fastball and anybody that can get swing/miss off their heat is going to be successful more often than not. Now more and more people are looking into how he manages it despite fairly benign velocity.

Pretty interesting breakdown. He's become a crafty righty out there. I think he'll still be taking the hill and winning 15 games/season 10 years from now. He's as unsung as they come but man he's a nice guy to have sitting #2 in your rotation.
