The kid deserves some respect.

After todays game Im starting to believe in the guy as our quarterback. He just displayed a true testament of toughness out there and leadership.

To some people I understand its about him leading us to the playoffs and winning the superbowl in order for them to be satisfied...yada yada yada

Im not going to go by that mindset at all. I look at this game and I see the way he played and it tells me a lot about his character. We should be proud. We got a pretty good quarterback folks. That 2nd round pick we gave up was well worth it.

I think composure, toughness, and leadership are key attributes for a quarterback. Cassel has those qualities and I also love the fact that he plays with passion too.

However, I believe the number one attribute as a quarterback is the ability to respond under pressure. So now I don't want to jump the gun here and say he has that capability, but I will say, after coming back from an appendectomy and performing the way he did, is a great sign and a step in the direction towards performing well under pressure. So far so good Matt. Keep up the good work

We were not crazy. We all saw the overthrows, under throws, happy feet, bad footwork, bad arm slots, poor decisions etc. It existed. It was clear.

I will eat some crow that he is our QOTF and not having a good 1/2 season. I will galdly eat that crow.

But, he is winning me over with his spirit on the field. He continues to play like this and with this passion. He may make it into the Ring if Honor. But, he's not there yet.

Trent v2.0

I made this comparison at the first of the year (after I, admittedly, had hardly seen the guy play and was just basing my opinion on a cross section of posts from this board). I'm not saying that the skill sets are the same, but I do think that the situations were similar and that Cassel may begin to prove himself to the fanbase as time goes on. We'll see. Playing with heart and, most importantly, winning does a hell of a lot to shut up the naysayers.

Trent wasn't nearly as mobile as Cassel,but Trent threw down the field way more than Cassel even thinks about.Thanks for playing,try again.

I'm also not convinced that Green could operate in this kind of an offense where the offensive line isn't giving him a clean, 5+ second pocket on every single passing play.
