Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.


Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?



Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Well, I did go ahead and modify my AK and I (sort of) took my own advice. Got the Midwest Industries quad rail - even though I only really need a rail on top, the other cheaper options just didn't impress me. I did go with an inexpensive UTAC holographic red dot sight instead of the Burris, which saved me about $150. It got good reviews, and I don't figure to shoot the AK all that much anyway, so what the hell.

Heading to the range on Sunday to get it dialed in.

Scope shopping is awesome yet sucks at the same time.


At first, Nightforce was the obvious choice. They have a 42x Benchrest model that I can get for a little over 1400.

I came across SWFA, and they have an awesome scope for around the same price.

Then, I started looking at Vortex. They have some nice scopes, and the basic Viper 20x can be had for $459.

How much magnification does one need?

Do I need FFP or second?





I finally said **** it, I need to do a test. I used one of my Redfield Revenge 18x scopes to see if I can resolve a 1+ mile target. I could easily make out a 15" target. I regularly use the cheap Redfield to consistantly hit 1000 yard balloons with my AR-10.

I am chasing my tail. **** me.

If I can see it I can shoot it, I don't need a Mega scope to hit targets like a lot of wallet-warriors need.
