Road to the first overall draft pick

It's still early but its looking like Jacksonville, Carolina and us for the top two QB's and top 2 picks. It would be really bad if we dont get one of the top 2 picks because I could see both the Jags and Panthers trading out to pick up picks and we get jumped over after going 2-14.

I don't. There are no QBs in this draft worth giving up what a team would have to give up in order to move into one of the top 2 spots. There are solid QBs in this draft and it is looking like a deep QB class, but there are no Lucks or RGIIIs in this class. A team can sit back and wait for a top QB without having to give up a kings ransom for him.

Also we will have a say in whether Carolina drafts in front of us considering we play each other later this season.

I don't know if it would really matter. Looks to me you could take the top rated 5-7 QB's in the draft, put them in a can and shake them up and roll them out, and take what you get. Not a whole lot of defined difference. Nobody really stands out like in last years draft. Just so we get a QB somewhere in the top two rounds, would probably suffice.

This is where the scouting department, GM, and coaches have to get it right. Not that the talent level at QB is anywhere near what it was in 1983... the last time we drafted a QB in the first round... but there were 5 QB in that first round. And we pretty much grabbed the only turd out of that group. In 2013 we need to get it right.
