Beginning your roster construction in April (or later) isn't exactly ideal.

Of course they'll end up with some decent players, but you just lost by far your best recruiter in many years, so I wouldn't expect a wealth of talent to fall into your lap as it has the last 15 years.

Any one of Scott Drew, Matt Painter, or Nate Oats would be a significant upgrade on Cal at this point. Hell, maybe even Bruce Pearl. And you’d have to think they will get one of them.
