alright, the heats are seeded (randomly, roughly even; as close as possible) and polls will be posted within the next hour or so.

here is the general structure: we start out with 128 villains of all types (movies and tv)

1st round: 16 heats of 8 (top 4 advance from each heat) (to 64 total)
2nd round 8 rounds of 8 (top 4 advance from each heat) (to 32 total)
3rd round: 4 rounds of 8 (top four advance) (to 16 total)
4th round: 8 rounds of 2 (one from each matchup advances to elite 8)
5th round: 4 rounds of 2 (one from each matchup advances to final 4)
6th round: 2 rounds of 2 (one from each matchup advances to final)
7th round: final.

alright, let the games begin!

Tavington should have moved on. JMHO that is the only one that truly bugs me.

yeah--I really didn't think stay-puft would go on, he basically made it in as the 128th villain because it amused me (and there were no better options out there, sadly enough).

oh well--you're absolutely correct. tavington was pure freaking evil. he's more villainy than many of those who have gone on, but other than that (and people ignoring some of the older villains who truly were scary-evil), I can't complain so far.

it's essentially who you think are the best four villains.

however, people vote however they want to vote... if you choose to vote which four would win in a battle scenario, that's ok I guess.

I will be going with a model similar to the ncaa model: round one heat 1 and heat 16 combined into heat 1 for round 2, round one heat 2 and 15 for round two heat two, etc.

feel free to leave objections in the next 20 minutes while I do some of the legwork: I'll listen to any and all ideas for round two heats. frankly, this is the least labor intensive way of heats for the first few rounds. round one heats were random, and pretty much everybody who moved on from round one is worthy (leading to some possibly loaded heats).

through the first two rounds, no. starting in round three, they will be reseeded.

the first round wasn't technically seeded. I threw everybody into a giant pot (as it were) and the heats of 8 were completely random.

what I WILL likely do is use the voting results for the first two heats to seed for the third round.

in other words: if darth vader gets 35/36 in round one (votes for/votes total) and 37/40, he'd have a total of 72/76. this would be put into a percentage of total votes. each of the 32 seeds going into round three would have a percentage, and be seeded into heats accordingly.
