We don't even know if she slowed down. The only time we see her speedometer it is at a steady level. We never hear her engine change tone or volume. We never see the reflection of her center-mounted brake light in the back window. She was confident enough that she volunteered her information to the police. She even said in her statement to the police she didn't want to speed because the pavement was slick from rain.

The supposition that she must have slowed down because the flatbed moved forward, then came back in view again, is assuming that the flatbed was keeping a steady speed, which we have no way of knowing.

I see the flatbed at the beginning and it does look like she is either passing him or pulling past him. Then I don't see it for a long time. Either it turned right (while off camera) or it's the same truck she passed later in the video (the first of two trucks) before he passed her. Notice that she took a quick shot of her speedometer. I would have to assume that she is trying to show that she is going at a decent clip relative to the speed limit, I don't know. The only frame of reference we have are the passage of the marker lines visible in her back glass and they look fairly consistent. But I still think you are missing something. This isn't a freeway. There are turnoffs on the left and the right. There are houses next to the road. That isn't a 75 MPH zone. That's probably a 45 MPH zone at most, I don't know.

She very obviously shows poor judgement at the end by speeding up to ride next to him, sure. But at the end of the video she stops in a turn lane and the whole video took less than two minutes. If I was approaching my destination that quickly and traveling +5 MPH in a 45 I probably wouldn't get out of my lane either just because some dickhead behind me wanted to go +20.

Also in the video in the OP listen to the sound...if it was "folds in the pavement" it would be a consistent beat...the sounds you hear are slow, then fast, then slow and sound very similar to Bugeater's video...she's hitting her ****ing brake pedal end of story.

If the flatbed is not keeping a steady pace then you hurry and get around him and let the flat bed worry about trying to get around you. It is called common courtesy. Guess what, I don't give a **** if you are speeding. More problems are caused by people with no ****ing common courtesy. Why do you think more states are starting to pass these laws about hanging out in the passing lane. It is called the passing lane not the if I want to drive the speed limit I can hang out here lane.
