Things I'm worried about....

and hopefully wrong about.....Let's hope we don't see any of these things, but knowing how things are always ultra-positive during camp, (and generally full of BS).....I am concerned about seeing the following over the next couple of months:

- LT still can't get a block and Turley's back quickly showing why he's been out of football 2 years

- Solari's play calling is worse than Jimmy Ray

- This is what happens when you run a cover 2 scheme without a pass rush

- Will Shields is too old

- Bell still can't make a proper read or tackle anybody

- Hali can't get a pass-rush

- Despite his all euro-status Svitek still can't block anybody

- Now that Gun has 50 million dollars worth of cornerback necessary to run his system, the bastards changed to a cover 2 nullifying his 50 million dollar cornerbacks *banging head*

- Those rookie safeties are all hype......

- Ditto for those new defensive tackles

- INJURIES!! After ~5 years without injury Trent was just due wasn't he?

- Ditto Wiegmann, Waters, Shields

- Huard still can't run this offense

anybody have anything else to add?

update 9/28:

- LJ done for the year

- Vinnie Signed as backup

Actually I believe it's 80 million worth of CB. And I wouldn't think we're going to show many blitzes, just play it straight up.

Definitely a worry.

Sorry but this one is assinine. Stupid. Ridiculous. I'll let you pick.

Definitely something to worry about.

Quote:
Will Shields is too old
He looked very old at times LAST year. This one's legit.

Quote:
Bell still can't make a proper read or tackle anybody
I think I'd rephrase this one to: Bell still isn't healthy. After talking to people that watched him at camp both last year and this year, I'm convinced he was injured.

Quote:
Hali can't get a pass-rush
Always a concern with any rookie.

Quote:
Despite his all euro-status Svitek still can't block anybody
Svitek never played last year so I'm not sure where you got the idea that he can't block anybody. You were on a roll until you whipped out this gem.

The cover 2 most certainly DOES NOT nullify Surtain and Law. The Cover 2 is IDEAL for Surtain and Law.

Quote:
Those rookie safeties are all hype......
Again, it's a risk for any rookie.

Quote:
Ditto for those new defensive tackles
We've been wanting Sims on the bench since the day he was drafted. Now we're getting our wish. Instead of bitching about, rejoice that the day has finally come.

INJURIES!! After ~5 years without injury Trent was just due wasn't he?
I'm concerned about it as well.

Ditto this one.

Huard still can't run this offense
He CAN run the offense. He knows it. He knows it far better than Printers or Croyle and he showed that in camp. The question is whether or not the guys around him can shield him from making mistakes.

The only thing I'm REALLY worried about is LJ getting hurt. That being said, I think we've got karma on our side after all the things that have happened to Priest, surely the football gods wouldn't do it again.

re: Svitek- I was going strictly by what I saw last preseason. I paid close attention because he's been my adoptee since the day he was drafted in 2005. Put it this way. Last year he made Brett Williams and Jordan Black look like all pros so I'm a bit skeptical of what I've heard of his improvements.

Regarding injuries, with Bennett as a back-up I'm more concerned about losing Trent. Huard made Jonathan Quinn look like an all-pro running the offense last pre-season and honestly I dont even know why he's still on the roster.

Huard's not playing tonight. Neither is Croyle, and Trent isn't staying out there very long because Herm has about had it with QB injuries I think. Smoker has only been here a couple days and isn't really ready. Herm said Printers could play 3-plus some odd quarters.... sounds like pretty much the whole game except the first series, which should be a real adventure.

Yeah, then I imagine that'll be it. If Trent goes down I think Herm's head might actually explode. Then he'll decide to do away with the QB position and just put a 3rd running back in every formation.

Herm had to literally play 5 different QB's last year in New York due to injury, which is unheard of... and so far in camp this year our #2 (Huard) and #3 (Croyle) QB's have been hurt. So I don't think Herm is going to take any chance of leaving Trent out there too long.

I've been gone for awhile. This looks like a Chiefsfan1963 neg post. Did he change his name? Some of these are actually concerns going in, others I would describe as phobias.
The Chiefs definitely have some concerns, the top of which I would list as Damon Huard being #2 on the depth chart. From what I have seen from him in the past, he has absolutely the ugliest ball since Billy Kilmer. I would have concerns if he was #2 on a high school depth chart. How does this guy stay in the league?
Trying to make Solari out to be Jimmy Raye Jr. is just scary. Get in touch with reality. Jimmy Raye had the #1 run offense in the league on a team that couldn't pass to save its life. He followed it up by a pass happy offense that couldn't run out of a wet paper bag. I remember that game against Tampa Bay where the defense forced 7 turnovers and we still lost. That was the Jimmy Raye era in a nutshell. Solari is probably going to return the team to more of a running game, but I don't see it going as inbalanced as some think. This team still has Gonzales and one of the best lines in football.
