RIP Major Andrew Olmsted - No Politics Please

Came across this on Fark.

You see this scene in the movies where a soldier holding a wounded buddy, right? The guy who is hurt knows he is going to die so he asks the man holding him to tell his wife that he loves her... and to give her "this note".

It happened in real life... but via the net.

It's a long read but it is funny to start. The end though had me in tears.... where he said goodbye to his wife.

This man had the forethought to put forth his feelings in the case that he died. Well put.

That said, my son will have to die after me, without his soul being bargained for battle.

My mourning is for those whose life he touched. His wife, his family, and a whole lot of people who read his blog. He seemed to be comfortable with his life and how he lived it. There is no sorrow in his passing other than the way it occured. That, and the fact the world has 1 less great man here.
