It kind of sucks that we wait until the end of September when no one cares anymore to start winning. At this point, all we're doing is hurting draft position.

I'd like to know what our record is since Shealy has come up. Sure it's easy to say the pressure is off, and it is. But it's amazing what adding a power bat has done. Don't know if Shealy can keep playing like this, but it does show how much adding a consistent power bat could do for the lineup. And Greinke is pitching great. Meche has been very solid. There are really several positive things to build on.

Don't know how often you read Rany... but he had a post the other day about the difference between a lineup with Aviles/Shealy in it vs. Pena/Gload. I understand the need for defense, but at some point common sense has to take over.

I don't know what to make of all the Greinke trade talk. I'd pull the trigger if it brought us the motherload. But I hate to give the guy up when he's just starting to enter his prime.

Yeah, I can believe it. Shealy's done more in a month than Gload did all year. And I like Gload, I think he is a great bench player, or used to be... but now he's just overexposed. And at least maybe a small positive... there is pressure on Shealy, he's trying to save his career, so it's not like he's mailing it in with no pressure like some other guys probably could.
