AFL Replica Jerseys

On average, I get a new Chiefs jersey every other year. I wanted to get a Flowers jersey which I am having trouble finding. I don't want to pay for a customized one. Searching the pro shop I saw that they have AFL replica jerseys for Bowe (already have his standard one) and Cassel.

I was just curious what you all think about the AFL jerseys. I kind of like the look of them. I am wondering, are these the 'throwback' jerseys they will be wearing as the Texans? If not, are they due to wear these jerseys during any games this season?

I wasn't really prepared to get a Cassel jersey YET...I was going to wait at least till mid-season to evaluate his play.

I think it would be cool to have one, I'm not sure if I want to take the gamble on buying a Cassel one yet though. If I had a good amount of money I'd probably do it though.

Those are pretty sharp.

Just be happy you don't have to wear this.

The jersey you our showing is just like the Cassel jersey I have that is a 'throwback' jersey.

I like the darker red that the 'throwback' jersey has compared to the red in the Bowe jersey I got two years ago.

The only time the Chiefs whore the darker red was when they were the Texans, so your throwback Cassel Jersey is an AFL Jersey.

It can't be a Texans jersey because the Texans didn't have the yellow around the numbers. In fact the Chiefs didn't add the yellow until maybe '72. The only thing throwback about this is the patch.

I want to get one of these but I want to wait to see if they get authentics at the NFL Shop and I am coming in town for the game as well so hoping they have one there. Called NFL Shop and they told me they didn't know if they would get the authentic ones in.

Thats a cheesy screen printed replica. Heres a link to a Bowe thats authentic, albeit a chinese knock-off type, but at least it's got stitched name and numbers for 45 bucks:

I'm gonna go AFL Jersey this year but am gonna go custom and get an all time Chief Great (Probably # 89 or # 14). I'm tired of spending money on a jersey and not knowing if the player is gonna pan out, get hurt, or leave. Ther's no loyalty in sports these days so I'm gonna go back to an era when there was.

That's not entirely true. The yellow (or gold) border was there from the beginning; it was broadened later. Probably '72, as you said.

See it?

The Patriots one is the best.

Broncos is the worst, followed closely by the Jets

Man, I liked the look of the AFL jerseys because they were simple and clean looking. But after this comment I wont ever be able to look at them in the same way. ha

I do go the AFL way, I will probably go this route. Thanks for the link. Have you purchased from this company before? I'm not going to get a misspelled players name from this place am I?
