I have Astro A40's and they are amazing when you get the Astro Mix Amp (for surround sound) and an optical cable. I don't think you can buy a more comfortable gaming headset, they are so light on your head that it doesn't even feel like you have a headset on but they aren't cheaply made either. I have tossed them around in rage on the couch next to me dozens of times and I have yet to break them.
If you want a cheaper surround sound headset you could go with one of the Tritton headsets but I heard they aren't very durable and that they feel heavy on your head and aren't that comfortable. Turtle Beach has some surround sound headsets too but I don't know much about them. If you have the money to spend on Astro's I recommend them highly, I have had mine for two years and I couldn't say one bad thing about them. |

Thanks for the info. I've been doing some research on the the new PX5 from Turtle Beach . . . sounds pretty legit from my understanding. Have you seen anything on this yet, KnowMo?

I just ordered the PX5 today. Hopefully I can get a brief review written up after using them for awhile. Thanks for your help, though!

They're amazing, but I don't really have anything else to compare them to. Everything is relative, you know? For a blind man, getting 5/20 vision would be incredible but it would suck for someone who has always had 20/20.

Gotcha. I was juuuuuust about to jump into the Astro market there for awhile, but I couldn't steer away from Turtle Beach after my experiences with them. Great, great company.
