Fantasy Baseball- How early to take Hosmer

I want him on my fantasy team. Not only a fan but I obviously think he has the talent to be a top 1st baseman in fantasy baseball.

How early would you take him?

#7 at 1B on my board behind Cabrera (1B/3B), Pujols, Votto, Gonzalez, Fielder, and Texiera. Just in front of Morse and Konerko

I've seen a couple of sites that have him as high as 5th at 1B and as high as low as 14th.

Overall I have him at #47 , though I've seen him everywhere from #22 to #106.

In my league he won't last past the 5th, and I'll likely reach a bit and take him in the 4th.

I am in a 12 team league.

I had my draft last night. I reached for him in the 3rd as Pujols, Votto, Cabrera, Gonzalez, Fielder and Teixera were all gone. It was a reach at pick #27 but because of the snake draft setting my next pick wasn't until #46 and I was sure he wouldn't make it that far.

I know, he was just the only player I really wanted this year though and I knew my buddies would pick him up before #46. I usually try not to pick with my heart but I had to this time!

If you're in love with the guy you take him in the third round. Fourth round you're rolling the dice, especially if you play with Royals fans. Fifth round he's gone. Players like to reach for young talent, it's just human nature. That can work real well in keeper leagues but my experience in yearly redraft leagues is that it's best to go with safer, veteran talent.

Yes, I love to play against people that draft the Bryce Harper's of the world, means my job is easier to get their money.
