Jaye Howard's Replacement? Bullard

I've seen this guy mocked to us more than any other player out there. At first I was skeptical. Then, I saw this highlight tape. Reminds me a ton of Suh, personally. Not to say he's going to be that dominant, but just watch some of these plays.

This guy looks like a day one difference maker next to Bailey and Poe. Also, saw on a mock where he was considered a guy who really loved the game and played with a lot of passion. Those are the types that the Chiefs love.

Bullard was huge.. and consistently made significant plays on significant downs. When needed the most, he had a tendency to step up.

Would love to see him in a Chiefs uniform.

Totally on board with him - I love what Bullard can bring to the table.

Arm length is a question but I think he'd be an absolute horse as a 5-technique for us, especially on an NFL strength program where you'd think he can probably get to a very strong 300 lbs. He might be a little light right now at 285ish but with Poe and Bailey drawing so much attention, his incredible first step, when combined with the speed that Houston and Ford bring off the edge, will be incredibly disruptive.

Moreover, he plays bigger than 285 against the run because of good instincts and a hard-nosed approach.

If we draft a D-Lineman, he's my favorite option and by a fair amount. I could be talked into a different position (maybe Eli Apple at CB, Will Fuller at WR) but if we're drafting DL, I just can't see liking a prospect who is likely to be available to us more than I like him and how he can fit in this system.

I could see the Seahawks or Packers snagging him right in front of us and everyone getting fired up.

Bullard would be fantastic, but I think Chris Jones from Miss St. would be even better.

If we go this route there are several guys who would be awesome. Some like Austin Johnson bc of his size and athleticism.

I want to keep Howard, but if falls through I think Vernon Butler would be the best DL. The guy is 325 lbs and looks to be about as athleticism as Bullard, which is quite surprising.
Butler reminds me of Muhammed Wilkerson

Really like this guy too. 34 QB pressures and 11.5 stuffs.

this draft is tailor made for us in the event of emergency due to the strength of the DL and CB positions.

I want Dorsey to do everything he can to keep both Howard and Smith, but if both took off for insane money, I truly think we could find replacements for these guys without a substantial initial dropoff

Essentially it looks like we have some great options on the DL this year and thus it seems to wise to let Howard walk.....

I think I like Bullard a lot now because he reminds me so much of Suh. It surprises me how many mocks don't have him in the first round period, but all that do have him to us or after. I'll check those other guys out.

You don't think that a rookie CB would be that big of a substantial dropoff to Smith?
