I've quit posting on the old board, but still look in from time to time. Still seems like the hot topic over there (and there sure aren't many of them) is the great defection.

For entertainment value only, you should read the latest post of one of my favorite narcissistic gasbags, Roger Garrett. To summarize, he rips all of us for coming over here, totally tees off on JOhn(?), knocks the new board, relishes in taking credit for driving us away, and has the unmitigated gaul to complain about someone else putting up too many posts!

Certainly not Blazing Saddles, but it made me chuckle. Glad I broke away.

Yeah, that whole thing is a trip. I especially like the guilt trip that is being laid on the Benedict Arnolds by a couple of them. Like we did anything wrong.... I still drop in at the old place but probably not much longer. I just want to catch any of the regulars that haven't been around in the past week or so. I would want to miss any of my buds!!!

The old board will heat up again after the next Chiefs game. And it will liven up even more when the regular season starts. There are plenty of people in cyberspace to run two Chiefs boards. People are happy with the decisions they've made. Its all good....

The thing I like best about this board is that most of the people I like to talk to (with a few exceptions) migrated over here. Conversely, most of the people who annoy me DIDN'T. No "I hate Carl" threads from Ken or "You're all hillbilly racists" threads from Keck or "If I don't create a new post every ten seconds I'll die" threads from Garrett and Tony Gonzalez over here (knock on wood).

I sure hope this board continues to flourish, moron-free.

Well, bedtime for Frazod. Talk to you all later.

Can't we all just get along? LOL. The old board is doing fine and so is this one. I have enough time to browse both and enjoy it. I like how new people who used to just "lurk" over there are starting to feel more comfortable and post. The same seems to be happening here.

I told them that:

"We're offering 150 e-dollars (which can be spent anywhere on ChiefsPlanet.com) to old kc.com subscribers if you sign up and achieve "regular" status before Midnight, Aug 25th."

I wonder if there is anybody left on either board that takes anything I post seriously....

I think one thing we'll discover is that there are are enough Chiefs fans in cyberspace to support 2 BB's.

I too, have been watching the Star BB (though I haven't posted there lately) and right now it's a little dead, but, as AZ was saying, the long-time lurkers are coming out of the woodwork to post and that'll be a good thing.

BTW, I have nothing against anyone over 'there' personally. I simply perfer this format over the Star.

I guess when regular season starts, all the minor skirmishes and sniping will stop and both boards will be filled w/ FOOTBALL topics.

AZ,

I am one of those that enjoys posting here a lot more than the old board, where I used to just lurk. The conversation here is relaxed but involved, and I usually find I get worthwhile replies to my posts, even if I miss a few of them. It's much more encouraging to post over here. People seem to be happy on this board

I made my statements about the "old BB" when we first came over here and have tried to refrain from doing so in the last few days.

But, I can no longer just stand idly by and watch as "bi-boardal" citizens occasionally come over here and chastise those of us who break away, yet fail to take the same stance on those who choose to bash us (and you know who they are)at the old board. There are some who stay there who are being nice about it, but there is the "high profile" people who consider it their duty to slap labels on those of us who made a choice to leave, call us Benedict Arnolds, lay guilt trips on us by saying "they hate to think that people could lose their jobs over this", and the MANY OTHER callous remarks aimed at creating ill-will.

This is not a battle of BB's, although some back there would have it be. I chose to come here for many reasons(I listed them on another thread)and I am happy for those who wish to stay at the old board. I occasionally lurk at the old board to, like Phil, let anyone who has been away for a while know that many of us have moved, and let them know where we are.

All you have to do is take one look at the posts by Roger Garrett, J-Mart, and Denise to see the animosity being spewed, and false accusations being made. If that is promoting harmony I would hate to see what an all out BB war would be like.

Mark - I think the animosity on both BB's is quite sad really. I do think there is more of a personal agenda on the other BB, but it will all die down once the regular season starts.

Oh yeah, GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!

I still read a few posts on the other board, but have only posted in response to a little handicapping contest, with about 6 others. I, too, find the name calling and attempts to dissuade other from using this board, rather distasteful. I have no agenda, just quite simply this board is faster, stays up, and talks more football, and Chiefs related items, which is all I am looking for. Best of luck to all who have stayed, and I am looking forward to the season, with the rest of you "traitors".

Well, I finally got sick of the whining and posted this:

quote:
Bill Johnson (htismaqe666), 08/24/00 09:29 am (reply 41 of 41)
Well, I hate to tell you guys but right now, the profusion of graphics has affected our server .04%. See we MONITOR our server and do things to enhance service and performance. We used AUTOMATED scripts to screen out profanity and trolls, and spend more of our time making the board run, than running off posters. Hmmm...a novel idea? I think not, it's called decency.

By the way, like my new moniker? I figured the way some of you talk around here, we might as well be Satan. )
