We have way, way, WAY stupider bumps on an almost daily basis. Some of it is because the poster who wants to bring something up about a player is so bad at posting that their thread creation privs have been removed. Others are just cowards who are afraid of taking on the awesome responsibility of creating a new thread.
Will keep this in mind.

He was trashed and going 140 on a residential road, IIRC.

This is the sort of case where he should have spent like 15 years behind bars.

I feel like every single time someone makes it a point to say they're brand new to the site, it's either a bot or someone returning who thinks saying such things will completely throw people off.

Yup many buy a second car, true story bro

We have been talking to each other for 20 years. We know each others tendencies and their views on issues many many times.

Your posts make me think I've seen yours before, Are you a dupe?

From a strictly retributive standpoint, 4 years in prison for killing someone while engaging in reckless conduct is awfully light. From a restorative standpoint he's as likely to be 'shocked' out of the behavior in 2 years as he is 10.

But frankly I think the restorative model is about total bullshit so I'd say keep him in there as a penance for what he's done. That's the etymology of 'penitentiary' -- they were called that as they were initially designed as places where people served their penance for their wrongs.
dumb question that I honestly don't really know the answer to--- how are those scandanavian countries that do restorative justice doing so well in reforming criminals and reintegrating them into society? how does it work in norway, with human beings just like the ones in our country, yet it won't work here?

I legit don't know. I know our justice system just doesn't work. there isn't justice for everyone, never really has been. and when you take into account that up to 5% of those given the death penalty are ****ing innocent, that's ****ed up. we're better than that, aren't we? I'd kinda like to think so.

sorry for taking this to dc with the comment if it does--but sincerely wondering why the hell it wouldn't work here.
