I wouldn't say he is a joke. More like way past his prime. He was great once, lets not forget that. It wasn't too long ago that Elvis was stinking up the place.

You noticed that Moon sucked, huh?

I noticed that the entire team sucked penis. The Chargers did everything they could to make the defense LOOK good, but the truth is that those turnovers don't happen against a real NFL team, as opposed to a team (the Chargers) that would rank around 15th in the BCS.

Lamar had better be careful...during realignment his team might get moved from the AFC West to the Missouri Valley Conference! LOL!!

If the loss wasnt so bad, I would revel in all you schmoes telling me what a step up Moon is from Grbac... He should have retired years ago.

Our defense played really well today, actually. They caused lots of sacks and lots of turnovers. Hell, they even got us points. Our Offense was bloody horrible!! I learned one thing today that may get me banned from this board....Elvis is our MVP.

Russ: I was thinging the same thing.......

I was also hoping to see Gun strap on a pair and give Collins a shot when it became apparent that Moon wasn't going to get the job done. Collins is no Joe Montana, but with Moon looking so bad, what would the Chiefs have had to lose?

The last person I saw on either BB that still believed Moon was superior to Grbac was Sportswax. The other "schmoes" haven't even been on Chiefsplanet.

Easy AZChief, it was the stinking Chargers!!!! I totally expect our defense, even as bad as they have been playing, to hold down a Ryan Leaf led offense with only one legit weapon (Jones). They did their part as did our fantastic Special teams again. Is the record stuck, or is it just me?

Bwana,

What do they have to lose? Are you INSANE? We're talking high draft pick and easy schedule!

Gun made the correct choice at QB and doesn't even know it!

As much as Moon didn't play a good gams, neither did any other offensive player. It's easy to pick a goat because of a few plays, lets reveiw this a bit.......

ST's stunk.........
Richardardson's Spike of the ball.......this was a hugh play...human error!
Play calling .............3rd and long..how many times ?
Not going for 2 points on TD !
Interception in red zone
Hasty's deflected pass that went for yrds gain...

alot of plays...you can't pick 1 goat without selecting all of them!

Yes a healthy Elvis could have made all the diff....but you all bash him too!

TEAM WINS,TEAM LOSES,Not 1 goat!

"Bwana are you insane?" My wife says no, but if you were to ask a few of my old college pals you may just get a yes or two. :D

Part of me agrees with what you have to say. I would like to see the Chiefs get a great draft pick and score a quality RB. We can only go up from here.

I hope you guys don't think I was implying that Moon is better. I was just saying that he was good back in the day. At least give him credit for that.

Mack: I don't have any problem at all giving Moon all the credit in the world for being a great QB "in his day." The primary proble is, his day has come and gone. He doesn't have any business taking a snap at this point in time.

Mile High Mania

As utterly pathetic as the Charger offense is, our defense still got turnovers which were not capitalized on by Bono, errrrr, Moon.

This team is totally rudderless. It started with just a few bad assistants but now it has spread throughout the organization. Why wasn't Moon pulled for Collins?

Sadly, Gun must go...

What the hell did you expect?? He is 44 years old, he is rusty, and he has no running game. Did you expect him to come out and play like Dante Culpepper?? Dont be mad at Moon. Be pissed at the guy who signed him.

Bwana,

Elvis is having a good year, but anyone who throws 50+ passes a game is going to put up some numbers. The Chiefs lost because, #1 they arent very good, and #2, you cant just sign anyone to be your backup QB. It is a injury riddled position. Shame on Carl for allowing a 44 year old fossil to be the team's primary backup.

Moon should've stayed in his realm of production. Six staight passes underneath. The running game opened strong, and I hoped for some balance. The second that Moon went vertical, he was ALWAYS off.

Grunny, bless his heart, looked fifty years old, hobbling around.

Collins should've came out in the second half, as ONE DRIVE could've won this game, something our offense couldn't do but what? One time?

I knew when when suer brun LINED DRIVED that punt...The most important time to hang one up...He outkicks the coverage.

TR spiking that ball sums up the last few games.

KCTitus

Packfan: I agree with a lot of what you're saying with the exception of "anyone who puts up 50+ passes a game is going to have some numbers." I would not agree in the case of Moon or many other QBs.

The Chiefs were even given a Ryan Leaf gift and still lost. Good God thats pathetic!

Dont blame Richardson. The Chargers had no business being in this game.

Just how bad must Todd Collins be? If he can't beat out Grandpa Moses. And wasn't that a great change, returning Warfield to starting CB. How about that great rookie safety Wesley, covering, (?), Jones, not once but twice. Hey lets not forget the addition of Donnell in the backfield. Lets see, I like Gun cause he plays the rookies, bostitch, he plays them because he drafted them, now let him hang because of it. Get rid of him, all of his assistants, and if Peterson won't do it, fire him too. That in itself isn't a bad idea.

Clint: It's hard to say who is sporting the pants when it comes to "player placement" as in starting Moon. Is it Carl, Gunther or Jimmy? Perhaps the weegee board comes into play? I do think we have seen th elast of Moon.............I hope.

It just proves I have been (along with others) RIGHT for 2+ years. Where is Thomas Williams when you need someone to beat on?

Phil: The odds of hitting the lottery are greater than Williams showing his face after yesterday.

Thats part of Gunter's problem, always placing blame somewhere else: "I wanted to replace Moon with Collins, but Rayed talked me out of it". The bottom line is that a QB change is Gunter's call. He should accept responsibility.

Also, shame on Carl Peterson for having three FA rejects as QBs on the Chiefs roster.
Thats a position he should take seriously and hasnt for a long, long time.

Ken,

I agree with your first statement. Gun's always hanging his staff out to dry to the press after a gametime screwup. I wouldn't want to work for him if I knew in advance that he'd do that to me. I doubt he'll be a headcoach again.

Regarding your second statement - that's typical Ken-speak. I nearly let it go but what the heck. I can't stand Moon and never wanted him on the team. However, he somehow beat out Ted White and that's why he's here. Collins has starting experience in the NFL and when you can get that and his paltry salary all wrapped up in a tidy 3rd string package, I think you couldn't ask for much more. I'll let Grbac's results speak for themselves. These are hardly rejects. I guess the same could be said for Favre & aWuerfle, huh? Hasselbeck is a helluva prospect and GB take take full credit for drafting & developing him. Congrats in that regard. He's your QBOTF.

If you don't use it, you lose it.

Look at the Chiefs history with QB's.

Draft a QB high, sit him on the bench for 5-6 years, allow him the time to mature into a fine businessman. Let his talents dry up.

Todd Blackledge led the nation his senior year in college. Drafted ahead of Marino, sat third string until he had no ability left, then washed out after a short stint.

It goes on and on.

When you get a young talent, put him to the test, let him get burnt a few times. Look at Aikman, Manning, Marino, Montana, etc. All of these guys would have been fodder in KC after just a couple of years. It's sad, but it happens time after time.

kphobia,

Favre was acquired via a trade, no a free agent acquisition.

Grbac, Moon, and Collins were all acquired via free agency. Their previous teams didnt care to resign them. Grbac has put up impressive numbers last year and this year, however, he isnt a leader and IMO, wont win any playoff games. Grbac should know how important he is to the team and to sit out against SD with a "bruised finger" shows how much of a whimp he is. IMO, you must have a better plan at the QB position then to grab your guys of the waiver wire. Not just your first string, but the 2nd and 3rd as well. Why not draft a QB and develop him? It starts with Peterson and he just hasnt been able to scout and get the right guy. One wouold think that after 11 years, luck would find a decent QB in the draft.

KCTitus
11-28-2000, 09:49 AM
Package: Grbac is a "decent QB." If the rest of the team were playing up to Grbacs level, we would be headed to the playoffs.

You may want ot spend a little more time trying to figure out how much more time Favre has left in his tank. He looked pathetic last night.

~Time to fire Ron Wolfe?~

Ken,

I'm well aware that Favre was acquired via trade. I guess his previous team didn't care enough to retain his services. Yes, I know that was Atlanta and I'm also fully aware that the transaction was in 92 in case you feel the need to educate me further.

He threw one good pass last night. I'm voting for him for MVP.

Regarding KC's failure to draft a project QB. We have - at least 4 in Carl's tenure. None panned out - we've been unable to fully develop them and that's not necessarily the fault of Carl. Our staff has failed. Not that their talent was first rate but some of those QB's showed flashes like Barnes & Matthews. The jury is still out on White but he looks like a very long shot just like he was when he was brought in. Blundin was clearly a failure as no other teams even showed much interest in him.

After the disgusting display of "football" I watched Sunday, I have decided that I will call for Petersons resignation at every opportunity. In addition to his documented inablity to draft a QB, I would like to additionally point out his inablity to draft a RB, and WR. Morris showed a flash during SD1 but has only been OK since. Greg Hill?, Harvey Williams?, Rashaan Shehee?, Moreau? Lockett?, Penn?, Dawson?, Parker? Stop the insanity. If Peterson is not responsible for devoloping these players then he is responsible for hiring the coaches who are. What is Petersons responsiblities? Fans in seats? Hell no!!! I pay to go to the games. me, and the 76,000 other fans are responsible for the sellouts. I am there in SPITE of Peterson, and I am sick and tired of King Carl taking responsiblity for turning this franchise around but getting a free pass for the problems with this franchise. And don't even get me started on Kickers/Punters/Kick-Off Specialist. Sickening.
