do you think Trent replaces Len Dawson as the most popular QB in Chiefs history?

Probably. Assuming he's an integral part of it. It's hard to gauge an "of all time" label, because the criteria will be different for everyone, but Green certainly has the numbers already. Post season wins is the only blemish on his resume IMO.

There are a lot of us who only know Len Dawson through stories (and as a radio and TV guy). I've seen very little of him playing football, so it's hard for me to call him a favorite. Before Green came along, all I had to choose from was a slew of mediocre QBs from the 90s, and a "past his prime" Montana.

That is comparing apples and oranges. It would be a generational thing. " All time" always breaks down to generations. The game is so different now.

But if he does good in the Super Bowl and brings that trophy back to KC......maybe just maybe

He's more popular than Len is now.

I already consider Trent one of the best QB's for the Chiefs. He has put up some incredible numbers for a while now, and it's the defense that's kept him out of the playoff picture. If you look at the one playoff game we was in against Indianapolis, he did a hell of a job. It sure as hell wasn't Trent that choked that day.

I dont care if Len Dawson won us a Super Bowl or not, He's still an asshole and deserves to get his ass kicked for thinkin his shit doesnt stink. ****in pussy was injured all year during that Super Bowl year.

I still think Montana was the best for us, even though he was at the end of his career, he still guided us to that dreaded Buffalo conf. championship game.

As a long-time Chiefs fan I'm willing to admit that Lenny had a checkered past with the Chiefs. Hank Stram benched him many times in his career & he was always injured it seemed, but he did get the Chiefs to the Super Bowl a couple of times & won the Super Bowl MVP.

Lenny will always be a very popular player, but Trent Green could easily pass him in the next couple of years with a couple of Super Bowl appearances & wins! :p

20 of the 34 Super Bowl MVPs have been QBs. It is unfortunately almost a given that the winning QB will be the MVP. That sucks IMO.

Emotionless translation: Dawson missed 5 games during that Super Bowl year.

Len Dawson is in the Hall of Fame.

Trent will be adored wether or not he wins a Super Bowl. If he does win one he will be worshipped.

All that being said Len Dawson = Hall of Fame

Trent Green = One of the best QB's in franchise history but no HOF.

Yep. He gets more TV coverage than Len did 30+ years ago. It's easier to like someone you get to see week in and week out. Plus Green is a damn good QB. Heh. Remember Trents first year here? I think he was one of the most hated.

If Trent had Len's defense, Trent would be in the same spot Brady is in.

Dude, all those guys are either old, locked up, or dead now. Most of them haven't played football in thirty years? oh nevermind...
