Todaythere was an article on kcchiefs.com titled something like "Coach wants offense to be more like Gibbs'"

"Cunningham said this morning that the offense that gave him the most trouble over his years as a defensive coordinator was Washington's under Joe Gibbs. The Redskins didn't utilize many plays but they ran them out of a variety of formations with different personnel groupings which caused havoc to those charged with defending them.

"If you have a bread-and-butter play," Cunningham said, "you do it out of a variety of personnel groupings and you shift them all around, but run the same play. By shifting and moving and changing personnel he's able to run the same plays over and over. If you read Joe, that's what it's all about."

I wonder what running plays he's going to pick? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

I am sooooooooooooooo tired of the "running" plays. I think we should just call it the three and out play. That is what it amounts to.

Watch how many times we punt vs. how many times the other team punts.

Except everyone is stacking the line against us daring us to throw regardless of formation. That and our bread and butter plays are getting about 1.2 yards.

Based on the Tennessee game, I think we should punt on first down!

Mike Marts will give him a new offensive role model in a few weeks.

TX - Sad to say but our offense looks nothing like this. We seem to have specialists who only come out for certain plays and in certain formations. I have long wanted us to have the same players on the field in multiple diff sets as to make us less predictable. I have gotten sick of every time it is 3rd and long we put Anders in the backfield and either hand him the ball or throw a screen to him, as if everyone didn't know we were going to do it.

Didn't Gibbs also have an outstanding offensive line? That offensive line could dominate a game. I'm not saying that our offensive line isn't any good. IMO our line is very good but not playing up to the level of Gibb's old Redskins teams.

Geuss what Gun? Gibbs isn't in the NFL any more. And the reason they were hard to stop was their Oline were mean, strong SOB's. And they punished every Dline they faced.

When Gun turns to the 70's and 80's for guidance, it makes it very clear he should not be coaching in this millium.

Give me a John Riggens and I will run the crap out of the ball also. We don't have any comparisons to Riggens.

As Elvis was quoted as saying (from Sportswaves.com):

"Because we run the ball so well, well not so well, but so much..."
