I did not realize that he had surgery on this shoulder in the off season. He hurt this last season too. GREE-CEE will have to be careful with this injury or he could
damage himself for the season or career.

If he plays sunday, it should only take one
"bone crushing"....gazzism
SACK by Hicks to get to Ferrett..

I hate to see good guys get chronic injuries like this one. Griese's had a long climb to the top and I hope he'll have some time to enjoy the view from the summit. If he does, it'll really spicen the rivalries in the AFC West.

You know if this was a certian QB everone would be talking about how fragil he is and how he can't take a hit.

I hope Griese does not play. I like the poise he showed during the Broncos QB controversy. He will be a good QB someday, and I would hate to see a promising career damaged by short-term thinking.

Sit down, have the surgery if needed and let the arm heal. There will be other seasons.

Same shoulder, same labrum, but different injury.

Hopefully, Griese's legacy isn't fragility. Right now, though, it would be proper to say that he seems a little injury prone.

If Mike Shanahan refuses to play Terrell Davis against the Raiders at the Raiders, I doubt he'll be risking Griese. Shanahan is pretty cautious with his players.

I say that Griese should sit out this game and determine if surgery is required once the inflammation goes away, if it goes away.

Hell, it's only the Chiefs. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Just pickin' with ya.
Gaz, your point of view is the best. Other than KC, the next 4 games are fairly easy and if Gus isn't good enough to play well and win 4 of the next 5, then he shouldn't be in the NFL. (that's if Griese has the surgery and is out for 6 weeks.)

MHM:

If I am not mistaken you guys have a pretty soft schedule after the Chiefs at Mile High then go into a Bye Week with the game after that the Raiders in Mile High.

I think that Shanahan has no intention of playing Griese, but isn't going to tip his hand until the last moment.

Joe - If Griese plays it will show that the Rat is truly afraid of the Chiefs and feels he has to play mind games to beat us. Of course if they start Gus they better be prepared to bring in their number 3 guy.

Kilgore, I think you're right.

If I were him, I wouldn't name the starter until 20 minutes before kickoff. Why not? Start Gus and if for some reason, he sucks, then bring in Griese in the second half.

I still believe that starting Gus is the best move this week. I'm sure he will consider the "big picture" with Griese. At least, I hope he considers that.
