Just trying to be different amongst all the negativity.

This is the thread where you can list all of his positives. Everything that he has accomplished and done right in KC.

What do you like about the man?

I'd like to keep him around to wipe my ass.

He has done a decent job of signing reasonable contracts.

EDIT: Didn't read the title. I DO NOT want Carl Peterson to be the General Manager of the Chiefs.

I'd let him stay for another year if he took a lesser job as the guy that picks up cups/trash after home games.

Well this ought to be a short thread.

1. He strives for mediocrity.
2. I...I got nothin

He has accomplished a lot in KC. He made Chiefs football relevant when it wasn't. He helped make us competitive year after year. The fact that the sky is falling because we are having one bad season when we made the playoffs last year shows how much he helped change the expectations of Chiefs fans. Before he came, it was just excepted that we sucked. If he were to get fired today, he would be leaving the Chiefs in a much better position than when he got here.

All that being said, it is time for him to go. He has not won a Super Bowl or been competitive in the playoffs and it is time for the Chiefs to go in a different direction. I still think he should stay on as the President as he has great business savvy.

It wasn't like this in the 90's, but nowadays with a salary cap it's not that hard to make your team a little over mediocre.

That is actually Denny Thum's job. He does all the contract stuff.

Is that a1na2 on here?

Reason is he is friends with Carl's secertary. Personal connection to Peterson, only reason why.

It's true he put asses in the seats. Kudos for that. But now that the asses are LEAVING the seats, it's probably a sign that the team is in need of something new.......... like competence.

Very similar to yours actually.

Except i dont think he would be leaving the Chiefs in a better position than when he got here.

One of the big reasons that Carl and Marty were successful fairly quickly was that the Chiefs had alot of talent stockpiled from the 80's high draft picks. Especially on defense. The Chiefs dont have that currently.

Everything else you said is how i feel. His time has come and gone. Lets move on.

The Chiefs would have gotten HUGE without Carl. The NFL was exploding in popularity-so any Huckleberry could have drafted DT.

We owe Carl nothing-FUG him, hope he dies.

Is it considered "staying" if I bury him under the new field turf that I'd put in?

As long as it removes him from any decision making processes, which that sounds like it will do, it shouldn't be a problem.

A better plan would be- Stay HOME. Why even go??

This game needs to be empty-make it look like Royals stadium.

My guess would be he moves into a Jack Steadman "Vice Chairman" role if he gives up his GM title.

Carl places a high value on real estate, and rents asphalt for a lot of dough.

Peterson was done as soon as the Herm hire took place.

I don't think he's going to be able to shuffle his feet under all that concrete.

He was good at putting butts in the seats.

Which can only be done if there is a quality product to watch from those seats as evident as this season. I have mixed feelings because I lived thru the late 70's to the 80's and like it or not, Carl and Marty brought respectable football back to KC and its a little hard to just flush all that away and just "hope" the next GM is better. I never knew how deep rooted a Chiefs fan I was until the 90's, when it seemed every year we had true hope, respect, class and pride. He is not without fault and perhaps his time is up, but I dont see him leaving as a fix all as many here do.
