For starters ...

1. The only place for a bride to register for her wedding is Wal-Mart.

We just got an invitation to a wedding and the only place the bride is registered is Wal-Mart. It really sucks to be living in Podunk, USA. What's worse is that we have to drive 20 or 30 miles to the 2 nearest Wal-Marts.

If people show up at the wedding wearing camouflage.

Interesting note: at my grandfather's funeral, one of my cousins' husbands was wearing camouflage boots at the funeral. Sadly, that's my most enduring memory of that day.

"Was Rain Man by any chance adopted?"

"Why no!"

"That's amazing."

"Isn't it!?"

My mother's mother, who is apparently a mean old sot, told my mother that she always thought there was a mixup at the hospital, because my mom is the only non-redhead in her family. I've always hoped that there was some member of a European royal family who gave birth while visiting northwest Missouri in the 40s.

I guess redneck and podunk might be related. Good news there isn't any 350 lb females in this town that has any chance of getting married if they aren't already married!

You know you live in a podunk town when it's not uncommon seeing people in the bank drive-thru on horseback. (I've seen it many times here)

I haven't lived in KC for 10 years now. It seemed as though only small towns in Kansas had a Casey's didn't know Casey's had infiltrated into 'civilization'.

I don't remember seeing any of them in Tulsa. There are 5,385 Quik Trips though.

I think it's safe to say that, if your state name ends in -as, -ka, -ma, -na, -ri, -ta or -wa you live in podunk, usa.

Hey, that's a cool name, Askamanaritawa. Probabably Cherokee for "Lives in Sticks".

They are mostly in the boonie towns, although there are a few in metropolises such as Blue Springs and Independence. Basically, they are in the outer parts of town, though. There are none in KC, according to their website.
