View Full Version : Largest Bar Tab You've Ever Had?

So, I just got home from last night...I was out doing shots until 5 in the morning (bars closed at 1, but apparently, that wasn't enough.)

When we got our tab yesterday, it came to a motherf*cking ass-dropping 680 some dollars, by far the largest tab I've ever seen (albeit in limited experience).

We weren't buying rounds for the bar, just doing a dickton of shots.

What is the biggest you've ever accumulated or seen, and what are the circumstances behind such debauchery?

Back when I was heavily into drinking, I think the biggest I saw was around $400-$500.
You win.

This is why I've never liked the bar scene. Too many drunks pissing money down the drain (not that you are a drunk, Hamas). It's addictive behavior for some.

And you're awake already? Amazing.

When we got home from the bar we just started mixing random liquors.

I had a shot of Absolut Vanilla and UV that was pretty damned good (I think??), another shot called an Absolut Wild Coconut (Absolut, Wild Turkey, and Parrot Bay :Lin: ).

I can't believe I feel this fine. Usually I'd be dragging ass to the max, but I didn't have much beer, so maybe that's the key

Nah, I probably am a drunk. I'll readily admit it. And it is a huge money pit. The nice thing is that I got away relatively light (since there were several of us).

I only go out to the bars a few times a month, but when I do, I get absolutely obliterated.

I've never run a tab. I always pay a drink (or drinks) at a time. I could always tell when I had too much to drink when I found money in every pocket of the clothing I wore the night before.

NewChief

I've seen some in the thousands, but I've never been the one paying for them, and they're split between a ton of people. Usually they're when a large group go out and drink good bottles of wine. If you're drinking $40 bottles of wine, it doesn't take long to wrack up a serious tab.

I got nothin on Hamas on this one, but I don't go to expensive bars if I can. That is nuts, but I spent One hundred and seventy four dollars on a Saturday tab around Xmas this year. I have no idea how the hell it happened. Alot of tequila shots did the trick apparently.

There were 6 of us who were there the whole night. We had 4 others for about an hour.

My biggest problem is that I got really used to not having to pay for drinks b/c my roommate was a bartender, so I could go out, become the missing link, and spend 8 bucks.

Ahh, Glory Days

Yeah, it's a rude awakening when you actually have to start paying for your drinks. Even worse, I imagine that you got in the habit of tipping outrageously when you were getting lots of free drinks. I'd often have $10 tabs for drinking all night, and tip out an extra $20 or $30 to the bartender. It was worth it, because we'd drank way more than that. It took me a while to realize that tipping "only" 20% is okay when I'm paying full price. I do miss the days when I knew a bartender at every place I went.

I don't play that. I'm probably too cheap but even when I was making tons of money and spending time in bars I never did that. There have been times I've gone to the strip club with buddies many years ago that got expensive. But I can't see the value in spending $20 for one song so it's not really something I partook.

Yeah, I never could get into strip clubs. I've been maybe two or three times, but I can't suspend disbelief while I'm there, so it's not really enjoyable...and you can't drink in almost all of them (good idea), so it pretty much blows ass.

My roommate is a bartender as well, and his bar is a college type oriented cheap drink type place so you can get hammered for $10 or so, I so normally throw $20 tip down bc that money normally gets refunnelled back to our place. Personally though my largest tap ever is about $100 drinking wise. Blew $300 one night in a strip club, found out for $60 you could get a 30 minute lap dance instead of paying 20 for one song. That and the only reason we were in that place was bc we were hammered to begin with.

I've always wanted to bring a old expired credit card and just rack a huge bar tab on it and leave. It's not like they check if it will go through. But alas, I'm sure something bad would happen. Did you have to flirt with the rich dude and give him a hummer too? come on there has to be more to this story than meets the eye

nope, he was a friend of a friend and he was bloody rich. I mean, they had those players cards or whatever where you have to gamble a certain high amount per year to get and it was New Years Eve and he picked up the tab. Simple as that really.

Around $150-200.... about $80-100 was mine. I tip pretty well though whenever there's a good bartender, because a good long island iced tea can be hard to find. It also helps when you need a refill and there's constantly 3 rows of people waiting for drinks. Throw in $170 for the Brigade game, the College Basketball Experience, and food, and it made for a pretty expensive evening. Before that night, the biggest tab I've ever had was probably $50, so it's not something I've made a habit.

Ah, the Great Long Island debate continues... that's why I said good. ;) I know some guys who would probably qualify as more of a man than me (whatever that means) and drink much more often say they don't drink them because a few knock them on their ass. But, there's also the group that's like 'WTF, isn't that fru-fru?!?".

A good one consists of 5 shots and a splash of the other stuff, which is a long way from some of the most awful ones I've had that were actually carbonated because of all the Coke or were served in a glass that's so big there's 3 times as much crap than liquor. I'll only buy them at bars, because restaurants usually have the latter... even though some bars are pretty bad, too.

Not counting company parties just under 1k for an afternoon/evening in the gentlemans club in Reno for the superbowl. That was food and drinks. Believe it or not we never paid any strippers that day and we still had two girls sitting at our table most of the night. There were two of us.

Well, to be honest, I wouldn't know. I do know that I've left the bars on a many of nights having spent well over a hundred dollars a night in the past.

I can't begin to tell you how many weekends in KC, my buddies and I would binge all weekend long. As soon as that work bell rang on Friday afternoon, we'd start pouring ourselves some tall ones before heading out to the bars later. But sometimes, we'd all meet for happy hour somewhere and then end up bar hopping all night long- ultimately ending up in Westport and then off to some party.

By the time I fell on my couch with the tick-tock of 60 minutes on my TV, I'd be hung-over and damn near broke.

1 oz tequila
1 oz vodka
1 oz gin

a little sweet & sour and a splash of coke, shake and splash some 151 on the top. Hardly a fru fru drink IMO.

At Raglan Road inside the Power and Light District, it was more like .25 oz of each and a 20 oz bottle of Sprite... but we went to Lucky Strike and they were perfect. I must have had 7 or 8. Had to stock up since I didn't know when I'd make it back. :D

I used to run a tab 20 years ago at a local pool hall.

.50 draws in 12oz mugs everyday all day long.
$1.75 rum and cokes on Wednesday nights.

I used to run up about $120 to $150 every couple of weeks.

I was one drunk SOB most of the time. Glad I don't drink anymore.

Stationed in Germany a long time ago I had a 300 mark tab (About 150 American then). A few weeks later on the 4th of July we really got shit-faced there again. Went back to pay the next day and found out that Iliose, a good greek guy who was the owner, cook and chief bottle washer, and had gotten drunk with us, had lost the tab. He wouldn't let us give him anything. He said, "I got too drunk and lost the deco so I pay". I tipped him real heavy after that for about six months to cover some of it.

I still have the receipt under my cigar humidor.

If you ever seen the movie "Go" where the British guy says "I'll have the most expensive bottle of your champaign" that's pretty much how it started. It was even in Vegas to keep up with the similarities of the story line.

I've been waiting for 5 years to get paid back by one of the guys I spotted. Something tells me it ain't gonna happen.
