Exactly what I was thinking.

All I can imagine is like three people sitting around in a room trying to come up with a song that talks about dreams coming true, sipping on their Starbucks and filling in chords, one at a time. No authenticity, just commercialized bullshit. Not only that, but it wasn't even a song that could be improvised.

Well, I think Kris was slightly better than Adam in their first songs, Adam was incredible in the second songs, and I didn't care for either in the cheesy songs. But, here's the real difference maker:

Last week, they said only a million votes separated first and second place. Who do you think the Danny Gokey voters now vote for? I think the sway more towards Kris (for a variety of reasons). It doesn't matter if Adam was behind or ahead in that million vote spread, did he do enough with the second song to sway most of those votes his way?

Personally, I think Adam was the winner, but I think Kris will win the vote.

I agree with this, but I think this was a combination of the judges constant fawning over Adam(downright disgusting at times), his heavy eyeliner, screaming, and dressing in drag that made people not vote for him. America loves an underdog. Also, I think the results reassure people that it is not rigged.

I'm happy for Kris...Arkansas will be proud of him.

I also know a lot of people who said they felt like Adam was favored. Someone said the whole Katy Perry cape thing was over the top for them.

I think Gokey fans naturally drifted to Kris. Lambert can sing circles around Kris as was demonstrated when they both sang with Queen, but they both need to find a good fit. Even though Adam has better vocals than Kris, Kris did a better job with Keith Urban than Adam did with Kiss. Beth was good, but then the rest was meh. Hopefully they can both find some decent writers that fit their persona. Kris may be best suited going the lite-fm/country route and Adam should keep up with the glam/alternative bit but realize he can't go overboard on every song - 2 wails per album.
