I'm so excited to post this thread for the first time in 2009! I think this will be a wonderful year for this thread!!! OH THE POSSIBILITIES!

Get em all out of your system in preseason buddy.

At least it hasn't been 4 INT's.

"I want to upgrade my prediction to 13-3. Orton looks like Tom Brady"

Meanwhile, I want to downgrade my 3-13 prediction to 2-14.

Cutler sucks, because makes too many mistakes and throws too many INTs. Especially red zone INTs.

He was tossing whiffle balls out there. Christ, if the receiver wasn't wide open Aborton couldn't make a play happen with his feet or his arm. All of this was against milquetoast bread and butter base defense.

Jesus Christ when teams gameplan ABorton and account for the fact he can't throw more than 15 yards downfield our offense is going to be f'd like a stray dog in Chinatown. But yeah, it sure is nice to have a pro bowl QB with a once in a generation shoulder cannon off our club because he pouted.

Aborton was painful. He was exactly what was to be expected and I'm going to go throw up now.

Aborton has a rubber arm, a slow releast, and a dimwitted aspect about him. I'm not sure I'd trust him to bag my f'ing groceries properly.

Is Jake still available? Maybe he'd like to come play and stick it in Shanny's craw?

I hope the ground jumps in front of our QBs throws.

We now have a bunch of back up QB's on our roster and 1 of them will "start".

We're ****ed.

I voted for Hackney, that way the Broncos win 1 game instead of 2 and McDaniels is gone in 3 years instead of 4

Note: he is referrnig to Darrell Hackney, Denver's 3rd string/4th string QB.

This is going to look much like the Brode Croyle V Dambman Huard.

somewhere chef fans are laughing at us.

RIGHT HERE!

More to come.

Orton looking pretty good. I hope he can make me eat crow and chitlens

Me likey this offense.

Orton looking good so far.

7-8 1st and goal at the 5

Kyle 'the assassin' Orton

***ORTON PICKED***

Well that was a letdown.

Good job Jake...I mean Kyle

To be fair, Cutler threw more endzone picks than any other QB in the league last year.

***ORTON PICKED AGAIN***

Is it possible Orton gets pulled before the half?

Dont worry guys. Our great coach will coach Orton up. Orton will make Tom Brady cry by week 2.

***ORTON PICKED ONCE AGAIN***

I wanna know if everyone is still laughing at my wanting to trade for Derek Anderson.

:spit: This is epic. 3INT's. We traded away that pouting baby for this turd. Thankfully we can draft a QB in the upcoming draft. Thankfully we have 2 1st round picks. Oops, well atleast we have our first round pick. Oh no, you mean we traded that pick away. Aww sh*t.

I'd tell them (Bronco fans) not to set their hopes too high on Simms.

I lived in Tampa for the last 11 years and I've watched Simms--he's a great guy and it's difficult not to wish him the best--but he'll break your heart if your depending on him to lead your team to victory. After the Splenectomy, Simms' throwing motion was altered to the detriment of his passing game. All kinds of attempts were made to correct this deficiency but all to no avail. That's why the Bucs finally gave up on him.

And we're back! Tonight as an epic night in Mane history as a Broncos' quarterback threw a left-handed interception.

For this system, Orton is better than Cutler.

Just like you need light, quick, athletic, intelligent offensive linemen for the zone blocking scheme, you need a certain type of QB for the offense McMastermind wants to run.

Why look at any other way?

We need a QB who never throws left handed....

Did you just ****ing compare orton with montana and young? LMFAO you're a tool.

:homer:

All of you are tools.

What drugs are you doing?

Orton threw two red zone interceptions tonight ... luckily Lucas dropped one.

Plus 3 picks in the first half last week ...

Plus 2 picks in 11 plays in the Invesco scrimmage ...

Plus the 99-yard JMFW pick-6 to end the last practice before the Invesco scrmimage.

He is an abortion.

We should be looking at the waiver wire and trade possibilities.

So, I ask you, do you honestly think the team looks THAT much better inside the red zone?

horrible.

a cross between poo and diarrhea

2nd time i've used that to describe something broncos related tonight

Unfortunately, Kyle probably effed up the confidence thing too.

Do you know how HARD it is to throw a pick 2 yards downfield when it's not batted by a DL? He should win an award.

Forgot to respond to the original post.... Here:

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii237/cbc82/GIF_saftey_guy_suicide.gif

Don't forget, he threw TWO picks from that range tonight, Ken Lucas dropped the first one, remember? Scheffler caught Lucas's drop but his foot was on the sidelines ... :nono:

Okay - About that Orton INT

This will be talked about a lot, so ....

For everyone that says Orton looked real good, please review the game.

Orton only looks good when he can lock into his primary target. When asked to make decisions and throws on the fly, he breaks down completely.

Defending Kyle Orton is the dumass move, dumass. He sucks.

Here we have dessert - Ayers ala mode

Ayers has been paying with every defensive unit and i dont even see him running hard on some plays.

He looks lost... Not quite as bad as last week but still plays like his head is swimming.

His stat line is one stinkin tackle.

Par for the course for this ****in regime. And where the hell is Wesley Woodyard?

He's raw. Not top 12 talent.

We blew chunks in the draft. 6 of 9 (we had 10 picks before the Quinn fart.) on offense plus our #1 to seattle?

I concur. No sacks for Ayers. No INT's for Smith. Brandstater obviously sucks donkey. Richard Quinn plays like the Medicine Woman.

I think we should all just post individual meltdown threads, commiserate, and then drink cyanide. No point in watching the regular season, you know, the real games.

I'd expect something like 3 1/2 quarters out of Cutler. The Bears run twice until Cutler leaves the game, with something like 634 yards, 13 TD's or more. The Bears defense, knowing the skill, savvy and cunning of Orton, force a three and out 27 out of 28 times (the one fluke being a blown ref call giving the Doncs their lone first down of the game).

Sorry, but the Doncs have no player on their roster that is worth Croyle. Bailey five years ago, when Matt McConaughey was playing naked bongos in front of a Champ poster - sure. But not now. He's Gonzalez at this point, with one, two years of effective football left. Flowers and Carr are better than him at this point.

Quarterbacks, quality quarterbacks are rare. Croyle was our starter last season. Albeit, Herm's starter, but a starter nonetheless. You don't give that up for anything that is currently on Denver's roster. Including Bailey and Marshall.

"Well, I can tell you that certainly I don't feel sorry for Kyle Orton,'' said McDaniels, his voice rising an octave or two. "Kyle Orton is one tough son of a bitch. Kyle Orton doesn't feel sorry for himself, and no one feels sorry for him in our locker room. What he has here, both with the coaching staff and in the locker room, is a tremendous amount of respect.''

How did they get this quote? I mean, if most 12 year old boys had their voices rise an octave or two would be in the hearing range of only dogs and bats.

Do you think that the Denver press is allowed to take in specially trained canine units to Josh's pressers so that when he gets excited they can still get a transcript of the post game?

Hey look, Donks fans have hope.

Broncos can run it on the colts. The colts a fast defense that has forced a lot of turnovers. That has kept teams from scoring but they have moved the ball. IMO we can run at Freeny and Mathis. The OLB aren't very big either.

Best chance we have is to run run run run and play keep away from Manning who know can't really be stopped. He has thrown about 10 picks this yr though so maybe we can get one from him.

ROFL Whatever, the team has surpassed my expectations for this year in regards to wins. I was very realistic to start the season. This team is not a SB contender... and if they advance to the playoffs, which they have a great shot at doing right now, I'm not expecting them to make a lot of noise. But, I'm more than happy to be pleasantly surprised.

Fail? Whatever... fail is what you've been living your entire life. It's what the Chiefs have been doing more consistently the last several years than a majority of NFL teams.

Denver has 4 games left - @ Indy, OAK, @ PHI and KC... 10 wins is very realistic... I think they have a shot at winning against Philly as well.

Denver is set up to advance to the playoffs, they have more than a fighters chance of winning a wildcard game, but outside of that... I'm not expecting much.

It's baby steps for me, Rome wasn't built in a day and the Broncos won't be converted in one offseason from a team that was 24-24 from 2006-2008 to a SB contender in 2009.

However, finishing 2009 with 10 wins and a playoff spot... that is a huge step in the right direction. But, I do understand your bitterness and desire to see them fail. Don't worry, their season will end with a loss and I have no issues with that at all. They've made great strides forward... the future looks very good - and very expensive for Bowlen.

Your offense wasn't top ranked because of anything special that Trent Green did. You guys had a stellar offensive line, and an even more stellar runningback. Trent Green played the same role as Orton: take care of the ball, and provide leadership.

Orton will never hit 4,000 passing yards, let alone 27 touchdowns. Green did.

The Broncos have gobs of offensive talent around Orton. Better receivers than Green had, for sure. One of the league's best offensive lines and two very, very capable running backs.

Well, it did take Green some time to get there in KC.

2001 - Year 1 of Green in KC, he had 17 TDs and 24 INTs
The team was 6-10 and pretty mediocre.
2002 - Green made the surge to almost 4k yards with 26 TDs and 13 INTs
The team was 8-8.

In 2002, Holmes broke out and went on a roll for a few years.. he had 2k plus combined yards in 2002 and accounted for 24 TDs.

If Denver were to support Orton with that type of ground protection, you could see a nice surge in Orton's numbers.

But, again... we had crazy QB stats with Cutler last year and Jay's team never had more than 8 wins at the end of 16 games.

Orton is on track to finish 2009 with about 3,500 passing yards - 18 TDs and 8-9 INTs. Stellar? No... good enough for the team to win 10 or maybe 11 games? Yes.

The offense is trending up, the ground game is getting consistently better and while Orton isn't flashy... the team is better off. They can certainly build on this in 2010.

Aside from the 2007 season, he's putting up Ben Roethlisberger type production... is he Big Ben? No, but the team is winning and I think his production is fine.

It's great to have a QB that can put up crazy stats... but, those QBs and those teams don't always win the title.

Some of those guys are better at over-reacting than some of you... as it stands, the Broncos have done better than most had projected. Yes, losing to the Skins and Raiders (esp OAK in DEN) is painful, but they have nice wins as well.

Two games left and they're ahead of the six 7-7 teams for that #6 seed. Anything can happen, but I like their chances a lot about moving forward. Also, Denver has a 3-3 record against the other projected playoff teams and if things stay like they are today... they'd meet NE and then Indy. Denver could beat NE again, even at NE... Indy, well let's not get too crazy.

Pass the blunt.

I'm actually not overly concerned about replacing Marshall's production. 101 catches for 1120yards and 10 TDs.

Let's say that Eddie merely returns to his rookie form and goes for 91 catches and 980 yards and 5 TDs. That replaces over half of BMs production above what Eddie did last year. Not far fetched to me, and I can see him producing even better numbers than he did as a rookie if he's featured in the Welker role.

I can see Gaffney catching an extra 15-20 balls for an extra 200-300 yards, and 3 more TDs. Between those 2 things we've replaced over 80% of BMs production.

Add in Arrelious Benn who catches 35 balls for 450 yards and 3 TDs, and the passing game hasn't fallen off at all.

You've removed the pressure on Orton to feed the beast, and you've taken away another "me first" guy. All that adds up to better football team, in my eyes.

I haven't lied about anything.

Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers are capable of 1,000-yard seasons. They are threats in one way or another. Chambers is a deep threat, Bowe is a red-zone threat. Neither are elite, but defensive coordinators have to respect their ability.

The Broncos have no threats at wide receiver. Teams are going to crowd the line of scrimmage with impunity. In tandem with Orton, the league is laughing at your passing arsenal.

My statement was that I don't believe any WR corp in the West is any better than Denver's, and I still think that. The only way to verify that statement, of course, will be to assess at the end of the upcoming season.

I would rather have Eddie Royal on my team than Dwayne Bowe. IMHO Bowe's receiving contributions can be matched by a good TE who would also contribute more to the blocking scheme than Bowe.
From my view Bowe is both slow and has unsure hands, the worst of both worlds.

BMarsh is a stud WR who is not replaced easily or soon.

Truth is though he was unhappy with the coach, scared to live in Denver (the gang that killed DW had already murdered one witness) and it was no longer the dream match up it was when Shanny and Cutler were in town.

Do they even need to? Slowshon isn't exactly striking fear into the hearts of men.

If memory serves, you have to go back almost 20 years to find the last time an RB was taken in the first 12 picks, started at least half the season, and didn't have a single 100 yard rushing game all year. And the last guy to do it was, of course, a huge bust.

The Mane is full of joy.

Denver just drafted the first virgin in NFL history

Bowlen is gonna sell a ton of jersey to church youth groups.

I haven't felt like this since Tommy Maddox and Tebow will have as much effect on the Broncos.

Tommy Maddox wasn't talented enough to play TE.

How is being patient with one pick "throwing away three years" Ask Charger fans if they are ok with Philip Rivers. Ask Titans fans if they were ok with McNair. He's more of a project, so you should give him some time. Unlike Rivers and McNair, Tebow is useful in gadget and goal line situations right away.

Personally, I can't wait for the eventual Tebow versus Rivers games. I have never met two QBs that are as similar as those two in their personality and how they behave.

Here's a question I'm curious about: how many short yardage TDs (rushing and passing) does Tebow need to score next season in order to justify the pick?

you think we JUST NOW became the laughingstock of the NFL?

haha, okay.

All I know is for the first time in my life I had my Lions fan buddy, Browns fan buddy, and several of my Raider fan buddy's calling and laughing all at once.

God I love this.. we get rid of players like Cutler, Brandon, and Scheffler and bring in Alphonso Smith, Tim Tebow, Orton, and Quinn... It's kinda hard to like our direction unless you were serious orange colored glasses and drank the orange punch.

*** this guy and *** bowlen for hiring him. I want my refund and Shanny back again..

This kid is no better than Orton or Quinn I don't get it

Really? Tebow is considered by some to be the best football player in the history of college football...ever. I don't think that Orton or Quinn are in that league.

You know, they say that an existence weighs about 21 grams which is how much people instantly lose when they die. If so, Tebow is going to play to win with about 21 grams which doesn't seem like a whole heck of a lot of existence squashed under a 300 pound defensive tackle.

Bill Parcells’ four rules for drafting a quarterback

1. He must be a senior, because you need time and maturity to develop into a good professional quarterback. (check
2. He must be a graduate, because you want someone who takes his responsibilities seriously. (check)
3. He must be a three-year starter, because you need to make sure his success wasn’t ephemeral and that he has lived as “the guy” for some period of time. (check
4. He must have at least 23 wins, because the big passing numbers must come in the context of winning games. (check)

Blatant Homerism also notes that, of the seven quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl in the 2000s, five — Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning and Trent Dilfer — met all four requirements when drafted.
