So with 10 years experience with the Army and I've never fired the M-2 (Ma-Duece) or the 240B (replaced the M-60, which I have fired) until today that is.

It's a foggy morning, been waiting for it to lift and clear. Should be going up soon. Maybe I can get a pic or two.

BTW- hope I haven't missed much, saw the chiefs loss sunday, boo! Hope all are finding sucess in life, love work and all you do.

Out for now

I had to carry an M-60 through the jungle nearly half a century ago. Damn thing jammed up more often than gochiefs trying to get to second base..

I got to fire a mounted 50 cal once. It's amazing what a round that size will do to a seagull. :bang:

I am considering the purchase of a Beowulf .50 upper for my M4 for that very reason. Goddamn seagulls...

Up at 415, chow at 5, busses moved to the range at 615, got here at 7, I've done nothing since but smoke a couple cigs, and smell the gun powder in the breeze. Hurry up and wait! LOL.....

Blasting the .50 off of the turret of an M1 has a look, sound and smell you will never forget. I would hate to be on the receiving end of that bitch. The 240 is rock solid too... damn fine piece of weaponry. Enjoy your day blowing shit up!

The M-2 and 240 are cool, but my favorite is the Mk-19. I had a convoy team in Iraq, six humvees with two M-2's, three 60's (yes really, our armory belonged to a reserve battalion), and a Mk-19 on my truck.

I drove a deuce and a M577 . . . neither of which you can mount a weapon on. All you can do is either drive like hell or dismount and run when you come under attack.

I can guarantee getting strafed by an A-10 in the New Mexico desert (even if it was an exercise) is an experience I won't forget. I am so glad those things are on our side.

Ha, cool. Enjoy.
After firing the .50 Cal, shooting the M-60 was like playing with a wind up toy.

My first term while on active duty I became quite familiar with the MK-19, how can you not like a grenade machine gun, with a cyclic rate fire of 325-375 rounds per minute. They have a new round that's like a huge shot gun, shitting out 35-40 marble sized pellets for anti-personel engagements. Rock solid. I'm an MP, so we mount all our weapons on the HMMVEE.

I'm in the on deck firing order for the 50, so not much longer. Time for a Red Man wad...

Awesome. I wish I'd went in the military after high school.

Anyway I did buy myself a Model 95 Barrett two years ago. It's nothing like the ma deuce ,just a bolt action with a 5 shot clip. Paid $7500 for it .

When we went to the first gulf we had MP's following us to police up the POW's. One of the MP privates was shitting himself because he'd dicked up his .50's HS&T. We convinced him he needed to lubricate it better to fix it so he poured motor oil in it, worst fuckin mess I ever saw on a weapon.

I've sent a guy to the tool room looking for 6' of falopian tube.
We sent the same guy to medical for a pap smear. Everyone played along with it except for that female Navy Capt at OB/GYN at the Naval Hospital in Rota.
We all got are asses chewed, but it was well worth it.

My first tank gunnery, our tank was broken and a turret mechanic NCO sent me to the Battallion TOC to fetch the BA-eleven hundred novembers. Wasn't so funny when I busted into a meeting asking the battallion cmdr for something that didn't exist. With a clenched jaw, the LT Col asked who sent a private after this item, I told him is was Sgt whatshisass , and he said as it requires an NCO to sign them out to send ole sarge back to sign for them. I still had no fucking clue what was going on, so I say yes sir, and haul ass. Should have seen the sarge's face when I told him the Lt Col Tucker said to send him back because an NCO had to sign for them... Priceless. Of course, the mechanics duct taped me to the gun tube the next day. Good times... Good times... Oh, and if you didnt catch it... BA-Eleven Hundred Novembers = BALL00N

Yeah me too, there's a special kind of bond you have with guys who's lives depended on each other that can't be duplicated even by family. Not better, just different
