and put them in order. Do your top 10 as the 10 you think are the best overall. Not your 10 favorite rappers to listen to.

Yes it's an opinionated question, so give your opinionated answer. No there's no wrong answer, but it'll be funny to those of us who actually understand hip hop to see how awful some lists are.

1. Rakim
2. Jay-Z
3. Biggie
4. KRS-One
5. Nas
6. Big L
7. Pac
8. Eazy E
9. Big Pun
10. Eminem

Remember that this isn't name your favorite rappers in order, because if that were the case Nas, Eazy E and Big L would be my top 3 and neither are in the top 3.

I like rap, but in no way does it deserve a "top 10" or whatever type of list, IMO. They are all the same and the "music" isn't nothing to write home about. I don't think anyone will ever remember someone that wrote "music" about bitches and hos 20 years down the road lol. Good beats though, but it doesn't take a genius to rap.

Common mistaken belief that all rap is about bitches and weed.

It's like me saying all country is about farming. It's not.

There are many rappers who talk about real things, and things in the past and future going on in the world.

I never really liked rap at all, but I will admit when some of them have talent. Eminem has some talent (at least he used to...no idea what he's doing now days). Also Tupac is on the list, and Biggie and Puff Daddy I used to like. I never understood all the hype over Jay-Z or especially Lil Wayne.

I'm not going to do the whole DJ vs. MC vs. producer thing. I'll just list rappers and groups who influenced my tastes pretty heavily. I'm also not going to say that my list is of the best or greatest rappers. There are rappers out there, who I know are hugely important, that I never got into (WuTang, TuPac, Puff Daddy, Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z). This will be more of an evolution of my rap tastes.

Coming from some fucking Eminem mark that is HILARIOUS. Eminem probably shouldn't even be in the top 10. And there's a reason Jay-Z is on the list, it isn't because I like him. I fucking hate him and refuse to listen to his music unless I absolutely have to. If you think he or Rakim aren't in the top 10 I really don't know what world of hip hop you're listening to.

First of all I'm KurtCobain. Only like this till the lockout is over. Ironic that I lose a bet like that, and not three days later I'm agruing for eminem.

Second, you're retarded. Eminem uses as much different techniques and skill in one line than Rakim or Jay Z do in an entire album.

And I never said they shouldn't be on the list. I really couldn't seperate a top 5. Rakim is in there. He's not one though.

Really? Respect for Jay z? I don't know why that's become something everybody has to do, but it's stupid.

I meant the first two from my sentence, sorry for the confusion.

And it was a royals bet and I had to be a rapper till the lockout was over.

I would put Rakeem, Eazy E, Eminem, and Jadakiss in a pool for best rap skill I've ever heard. Tupac just outside for 5.

lol, this is so stupid I can't even laugh that hard at it. Hence the lowercase lol. I mean seriously, you're trying way to hard to look like a hip hop smark. If you think Jay-Z isn't in the top 10, whatever I'm not gonna argue that as much as the latter part of what makes me laugh from your post. I've heard many, what I would consider okay, arguments from people with hip hop opinions I respect as to why Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, etc don't belong in the top 10. I don't agree with any of them and will never come close to - except Pac is close, he doesn't do much for me. I have already stated I hate Jay-Z, but I can't deny his talent. He's really close to being my #1 tbh.

Calling me a weak ass bitch is pretty funny because I can promise you I know 10000000000000x more about hip hop than you do and I probably know 50x more about each rapper on your list than you do. If you don't believe me you can meet me in the GrindTime tinychat room or at Arrowhead sometime and we can show our knowledge. There's a reason that someone who knows that much about each rapper on your list wouldn't put them on the list, it's because they don't belong. I mean are you stupid? Del the fucking funkee homosapien #1 of all time? ROFLMAO! I've obviously heard the Immortal Tec argument a million times so you having him there is fine, as I said it's an opionionated list. But the majority of your list is just retarded. Bizzy Bone in the top 10 LMAO. Did you have Weedman blaring in your headphones while you were high as all fuck making this list?

Maybe, but we're talking about the BEST rappers. And from what I get, we're basing it on rapping skill.

Not the most influential rapper, the best period.

Dre can set there and form amazingness in his head. He can direct a symphony into making the most amazing beats in the world, and he's a perfectionist. But he's not a good rapper. Not the whole show.

Even the rhymes he's had qhostwritten for him since the 90's have sucked.

Nah..He is a horrible rapper...He is just a GREAT producer and marketing agent basically.....

Saying he is a great rapper is like saying Hansen or NSYNC were great bands...

Sure the masses love it (mcdonalds) but thats because the masses are stupid.

This thread wasnt about great production/marketing....it was supposed to be about talent...at rapping. No one will know any of Jay Z's songs in 10 years...he isn't 'memorable' either..(and that isnt even the point of this thread).

I've been a huge contributor to various parts of the hip hop community for over a decade, especially the last 3 years. If you want to have this argument, meet me in this chat room later on this week late at night or if you can't let me know when you have time. I'm extremely busy this month but I will try to accommodate.

http://tinychat.com/grindtimelive

I'll get on cam and give you any knowledge you want about hip hop because if you think I'm some clown that knows nothing you're dead wrong and I can promise you that. I'd be live on webcam so you can't accuse me of googling/YouTube'ing anything (as if that's even possible to do anyways). So if you wanna actually put your knowledge where your mouth is and prove you have any clue what you're talking about, let me know. I'm there just about every night when I get home from the Rio.

I haven't had 30 minutes to do shit. I already told you why I don't have time, I'm watching the ROH PPV right now. I'm posting this between the TV title match and tag match. I actually WATCH wrestling, so when there's a match on I don't have time to sit here and argue on RM with someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. I've been through this arguments too many times with wannabe smarks from RM and random wrestling forums. I'm to the point now that after 15 years of it, it's just stupid and not worth my time. But if you actually want to argue over this then do it in the GrindTime tinychat room where you can't hide behind a computer and act like you know what you're talking about.

That's ignorant.

I'm assuming that he's listened to Jay-Z quite a bit, even if he doesn't like him that much. I agree with what you're saying, though. His list is basically the same list (with maybe a few deviations such as Big L) that any magazine would give you (or that I could have come up with off the top of my head. He basically just put up the same names that anyone puts up when they talk about best rappers of all time). That's why I made my post with the caveats they did. I could have said, 'Jay-Z is one of the best. Or Tupac is one of the best' but they're not to me. I didn't listen to them enough to say that they're the best. I've heard them. I respect their work. People whose opinions I respect respect their work. But I haven't listened to them enough to say that they're better than Too Short. And, to me at this point in time, they aren't.

He's also extremely hostile to any outside the box suggestions for top 10, so I'm not sure what the point of the thread was. Doesn't look like he really wants to discuss, just wants to show how much more hiphop he is than anyone else on here, I guess.

Don't personally listen to much rap. Not nearly enough backwards messages for my taste. It's supposedly "controversial" but most of the controversey comes from rapping about sex, drugs and guns, i.e. stuff everybody likes or does or owns. Not much controversey there.

My vote would have to go to Eminem, for the "Marshall Mathers LP" by Itself. Now THAT's a controversial record. Even listening to it in it's entirety the other day 11 plus years after it's release it still makes my jaw drop, CONSTANTLY. If more rap records had the attitude that LP had I'd listen to it a lot more, the stuff I get exposed to just sounds like bragging about how much money and chicks they're getting. But I'm a Rock homer admittedly.

I enjoy Jay-Z at times, but it's kinda like how I enjoy a loud action movie. I wouldn't put that movie on my top 10 list.

Eminem, Mos Def, Redman, Method Man, Biggie, Talib Kwali, Bizzy Bone, and Common are a few guy I love off the top of my head.

I also like Trick Daddy, Ludacris (Until about 4 or 5 years ago), 50, and SOME Kanye, but I wouldn't put those guys in a best all-time discussion.

Eminem is the best all-time, IMO, but that's because lyrics are the most important part to me and no one can touch him in that department.

Heh. I snuck on the Ghetto Boys tour bus when I was in High School and they played Pine Bluff. Shook Bushwick Bill's hand before they booted us off the bus. Almost got killed as well. We were the only white guys at the show. One of my friends got robbed in the bathroom, and another guy tried to loan us his gun because he said, "You're going to need it if you want to get out of here alive."

Good times.

It helped with his POPULARITY, I''m not arguing that. He isn't more special beacuse he's white, YOU'RE wrong. He IS more popular, but the record would have been just as phenomenal had it been written word for word and note by note by an unknown, sold less than a hundred copies and vanished into obscurity. Popularity and Sales DO NOT equal talent or greatness. Talent and greatness can be unheard of just as easily as garbage can sell 10 million copies.

Doesn't mean it wouldn't still have been a great record. Would I have listed it if I had never heard it. Absolutely not. But it STILL would be the best rap record even sitting in somebody's basement collecting dust. And that would not have happened just because a black unknown wrote it. That record was good enough that osburity was not an option. It probably would not have sold nearly as many copies or been as popular (I admitted that). It still would be my favorite rap record of all time. I was kidding before with the racist remarks.

Well , although 'good' is a fairly subjective word, I disagree. To me, how 'good' a record is can depend on a number of contextual issues. For example, a record like Led Zeppelin I or Black Sabbath Paranoid. If you listen to those records, (most people with an ear for music) you will think....wow that is 'good.' But then you look at the DATE and you see they were written and produced in like 1968.....over 40 ****ing years ago....And you go...Holy Shit! For 1968 that is GODLY. Context matters.....Its the Same with Eminem.....You listen to him and you think...That kid is good...But then you understand the context of his music, being a white kid in detroit, one of the 1st successful white rappers...and it makes it BETTER.

Of course its just an opnion...I cant argue about your own definition of 'good.' I can only give you MINE. And in my world, context of music is important..

Another example is Lyrics Born...I listened to it, and immediately liked it...But then later on someone told me he was Japanese....it blew my mind. The context of it changed and it became even better to me. More special and unique.

Time, Place, Race, Gender, Sexuality....Politics .....Music has a context and to me that is an important aspect of it. Hip Hop is a culture.....

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/o5E7WRgE2i8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

We'll have to agree to disagree. Context DOES have a bearing on what gets classified as great art. No disputing that. But IMO it shouldn't. Something that is great is great regardless of trivial behind the scenes facts like time place, race, gender and all the rest. If you dont listen to 8 of the top 10 on YOUR OWN LIST then you obviously are just going off of other peoples opinions/lists, you imbecile.

Ummmm, no? I have obviously listened to every single album of everyone on my top 10 list. I'm saying that I don't listen to them hardly ever. I listen to music pretty much all day every day when I'm at work 50-60 hours a week and half of the time when I'm not working and out of anyone on my top 10 list I might listen to 1 or 2 of those rappers every couple weeks. The rest of that list I doubt I'd listen to at all more than a couple times a year. That doesn't mean I think they're great at what they do. Hip hop is 100% for sure the #1 inspiration in my life and I'm positive I wouldn't be who I am today without it. I've listened to and studied it hardcore since 1999 when I fell in love w/ 50 cent POTD and Benefit's self-titled album. So to say that I'm copying a list or others opinions is just retarded because I only know a handful of people who know as much about hip hop as I do.

Your post makes no sense though, did you put any thought into it? Since this forum knows I'm obsessed w/ professional wrestling..try this one out. Who's the best wrestler in the world right now? My opinion: Bryan Danielson/Davey Richards pretty much tied at #1. Do I watch Bryan Danielson matches? No. Do I enjoy most of his work in the past? Yes I guess, but not nearly as much as a lot of other wrestlers and I'd never go out of my way to watch his matches. But is he the best in the world? Yes, easily. And it's not that debatable as music is tbh. Now hopefully that makes sense to you? Why the hell would I put artists on the playlists that I actually listen to if I don't enjoy listening to them as much as others. What I personally listen to has NOTHING to do with this thread. I don't even listen to hip hop 50% of the time I listen to music anymore. From 95-2008 it was probably 90% hip hop but nowadays it honestly isn't even half.

BTW if you happen to be up Thesaurus is in GT tinychat (link I posted earlier) right now laughing his ass off at you. So come say hi if you want. He's won Scribble Jam and won the WRC's twice plus shitloads of other rap achievements but he must not know anything about hip hop either because he's dying laughing that someone said Bizzy Bone > Jay-Z. But hey, you're the genius here not anyone who actually works in and contributes to the industry like myself or Pete. Del is the #1 of all time and you are Jesus.

Fuuuuuuuuuck no. Not even close on anyone's list. His skill is < chedda cheese. But I've probably watched every single one of his battles at least 10 times. And that's serious. So I hope your stupid ass brain can work well enough to realize why when I listen to rap why I will almost certainly not be listening to anyone on my top 10 list. It's not that hard to get, I promise. Just keep trying.

It would make it difficult to appreciate some great works of satire without understanding their context at the time they were written. If you don't know know what Voltaire's referring to in parts of Candide, where Swift is coming from in his writing, or the social context of Moliere's time you're missing most of the effect. I don't understand why you would say it shouldn't matter, especially in works of satire. You'd just be limiting yourself, I believe, from enjoying great pieces of art.

I don't think Jay Z is one of the great MCs and he's not a guy I really enjoy, but he's had a great career and he's a giant in the genre. Biggie had, I think, the best microphone skills of anyone I've ever heard, but his career was cut short and a lot of his stuff seems dated to me now. It came out of that whole, "Cristal" era.
If you're talking about best microphone skills I say Biggie, Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. If you're talking about body of work and longevity, I don't know. That's different.

Ok guys, I will admit up front that I stopped caring about rap long ago... and that my top list is probably not very worthy of credability. Regardless, I'll name some stuff.
Just keep in mind that if you bash my list and have Jay ****ing Z in yours... I don't have any respect for your opinion on the matter either, lol.

This is what I was into back in the day:

1) Busta Rhymes (The Coming was pure brilliance)
2) Eminem (Can't deny his skills)
3) Snoop/Dre/Warren G (Chronic Era)
4) Do or Die (Do you wanna ride?)
5) Bone Thugs n Harmony (East 1999)
6) Tupac
7) BIGGY
8) ICP (What a bunch of tools, but back when Great Milenko came out, that shit was funny)
9) Master P (Make crack like this,,,, whaaa?)
10) Dr. Octagon (I used to spin the shit out of his stuff.... blue flowers!)

Master P's early shit kicked so much ass, with 99 Ways to die and The Ghetto's trying to kill me along with the first 2 TrU albums. great stuff.

It's funny how Pawnclown can rep this morning but he can't respond ITT because he's too fucking stupid and anyone who has any clue about hip hop laughs at his list and anything he says. He's probably butthurt that I said Thesaurus was laughing at him. Since he's from the Bay he's probably a huge Pete fan. Hell, he's probably the "How would you feel, Pete?" guy who got robbed trying to get him on his 16 LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

It's also funny how you ignored a challenge to show up in Tinychat where we can see who really knows more about hip hop and even your own top 10 who I'm 100% sure I know far more about than you.

And no sorry I'm not retarded and didn't fail special day class. I don't even know what special day class is, but I've never failed any class in my life so I probably haven't failed that. I did graduate from college with a 3.91 GPA though, albeit from a complete joke of a college, but I haven't failed a class nonetheless.

So hey why don't you man up and put your actual knowledge where your mouth is and prove you have a single fucking clue what you're talking about?

Your post makes no sense though, did you put any thought into it?

BTW if you happen to be up Thesaurus is in GT tinychat (link I posted earlier) right now laughing his ass off at you. So come say hi if you want. He's won Scribble Jam and won the WRC's twice plus shitloads of other rap achievements but he must not know anything about hip hop either because he's dying laughing that someone said Bizzy Bone > Jay-Z. But hey, you're the genius here not anyone who actually works in and contributes to the industry like myself or Pete. Del is the #1 of all time and you are Jesus.

I did put thought into my post, unlike you who just copied your pillowbitergot friend's list. I asked you simply 3 times to throw up 3 songs by Jay Z where he out-raps bizzy. You can't. Hell, go back and look at my post, i threw up examples from all 10 of my choices.... You keep talking shit about deltron, yet he can rap circles around jay z. Please , please put up ANYTHING by jay-z that shows he is a better RAPPER than deltron.....I dare you.

I dont care how many awards you and your lover put on each other's bodies in the dark while you listen to big pimpin.....it doesn't mean you know shit about hip hop.....you can shove your awards in your ass. You even admit you dont listen to the shit on your OWN list......hey but im glad you feel your cardboard cookie cutter list represents real hip hop...and you and your hard ass homeys who are 'more' real hip hop in your hip hop chat room....LOL

I have an award for you too: The T.otally A.wesome R.adical D.eejay award for the best top 10 list , congrats webgem!

I'm laughing at all you oldheads putting Eazy E and Too Short in your top 10. Yeah, I love listening to them too and no doubt they had a huge impact on rap in it's earliest stages. But seriously, those guys have some of the most juvenile lyrics ever: "Yo I don't do dope but I'm dope, not a dope but I'm doper than anybody who tries to cope with the rhyme I'm displaying".

I also love all the people that bag on rap and how it's changed lately. Yeah, we have shitty rappers that talk about money, hoes and clothes, but they weren't doing much different back in 1993 either. With that said, it's damn near impossible to make a list of top 10 rappers without separating the nowadays from the olden days, so here's my new school list:
***Notice: I've foregone the OP rules of going with who I think is the best overall and went with my own ranking based on several different aspects of lyricism as well as overall music making ability. I tried to only include guys are relevant today. So although guys like Busta and Nelly may be making resurgences and Andre 3000/Big Boi/Nas are always around I avoided them altogether. The last thing of note is that I left Jay Z off the list entirely because he sucks...***

1. Eminem- I don't think many people will argue about this one. He rips pretty much everything he gets on and it's hard to argue with over 80 millions records sold. I'd say his biggest weakness is that the whole "pissed off white guy" thing gets a bit old at times, also his whole Relapse period is a bit of a blemish on his otherwise flawless track record.

2. Drake- Probably the most relateable rapper out right now. He has a way of making you feel what he's talking about in everything he does. I put him ahead of Wayne because he's almost as clever with his lyrics but he actually makes sense in his rhymes. His biggest "weakness", if you could call it that, is that he sings a lot.

3. Lil Wayne- Most definitely the most popular rapper today behind Eminem. He rips everything he's off and is WITHOUT A DOUBT the most clever rapper EVER. He's been rapping for over a decade now and has so many different styles and flows he probably won't get "old" anytime soon. My main problem with Weezy is that he never sticks a linear path in his rhymes. "Just talked to moms, told her she the sweetest. I beat the beat up, call it self defense" I could list a million of his rhymes that do basically just that-RHYME, nothing more. He'll relate macaroni and cheese to quantum physics in the very next line. The metaphors he comes up with are clever no doubt, but he loses points for foregoing any form of sense.

4. T.I.- He's been going through some issues lately with his best friend getting murdered, the prison stint, and now apparently him and his wife are into drugs, but since he's come out in the early 2000s he's been a consistent heavyweight in the rap game. I like the conscientious vibe he's taken in his past couple CDs, it seems he's getting a bit more mature musically as most of his songs have a positive message of stopping the violence (I'm aware it's a contradiction with his recent activity, but still...)

5. J. Cole- New guy in the game that's about ready to blow up. There aren't many rappers that have as much substance as J.Cole. He just needs to figure out how to make "hit" music and he'll be one of the best.

6. Kanye West- Kanye would be in my top 3 if it weren't for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and 808's and Heartbreaks. He's obviously been pretty depressed and it's rubbing off heavily in his music, I'm awaiting the pre-Graduation Kanye.

7. Ludacris- Ludacris is a tough one. I feel he doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves as an artist and I'm not sure why. Like TI, he's been a consistent force in the game since Back for the First Time, but during that time I feel like he's never been looked at as a top3 guy like Wayne, Kanye or TI. Recently he's been slacking a bit, I didn't like Release Therapy, Theater of the Mind, or Battle of the Sexes much, also he's been featured on a lot of "pop-rap" songs with guys like Taio Cruz and Justin Bieber. Nonetheless, if there were a Hip-Hop Hall of Fame, Luda would be in it.

8. Fabolous- Fabolous is one of those guys that's been around for the longest time but hasn't really made a big impact on the game. Either way, Fab's a lyricist and anyone with a brain can tell that, he just hasn't mastered the art of making super smash music yet.

9. Rick Ross- Ross is probably my favorite gangster rapper right now. I like his mellowed out voice and he has some pretty clever rhymes. Basically, it makes me feel pretty gangster when I listen to him.

10. Young Jeezy/ Nicki Minaj/ Lupe Fiasco- These guys are all pretty much interchangeable to me. Jeezy and Minaj are both pretty good lyrically and have definitely been making hit music, Lupe's kinda new in the mainstream scene so he doesn't have the track record but he's without a doubt the best lyricist of the three.

This list is open to amendment and I may have overlooked a rapper or two, but any questions?

Cam'ron during "Children Of The Corn"
Beans before the cops came through and try to grill 'em
I'm talkin '95, Big L before they killed 'em
Em before 8 Mile, Shyne before the jail shit
Canibus, no album out before the L shit
Talkin' bout Kiss, DMX when he was fuckin' wit coke
Or Cuban Linx, with Raekwon and Ghost I do it all, who blendin' so well in the game
Talkin' Fab, back when he was still spellin' his name
On my Diddy shit, Memphis Grizzly shit
Like back in the day when Clue swiped all of Biggie's shit
Rappers don't need trouble with I Unless it's Rass Kass before the D.W.I

Anyone doubting Jay-Z's placement in a top 10 list really needs to listen to songs like Dead Presidents I and II, Brooklyn's Finest, D'Evils, Soon You'll Understand, 99 Problems, American Dreamin', Friend of Foe, Can't Knock the Hustle, so on and so forth. The guy has one of the strongest and deepest catalogues in hip hop history. He's easily top 10 and an argument could easily be made for top 5.

Well I left Too Short off not only because he isn't relevant today, he's also not that good of a rapper. There's a reason he's primarily popular in the Bay Area, although a lot of old school listeners remember him from back in the day. I did a quick search and found he has 11 studio albums. Can you name 3 of them without googling? That alone lands him in the list of irrelevance to me, with over 11 albums (including EPs and such) you need to make a bigger splash than the ripples he's made.

And pertaining to my list, those last three were just bleh to me. That's why they're interchangeable. Jeezy thinks he's some kind of street motivator, but he doesn't even stand for anything, Nicki Minaj is the female, less talented version of Lil Wayne, and I can't really ride on Lupe. He's actually an extremely solid lyricist and he's only going to get better now that's he's known.

I understand the Too Shorts, Eazy Es, and Warren Gs carry a hell of a lot of nostalgia to you guys, but the truth is they were all pretty basic. On an all time list I'd put Rakim, Nas, Eminem, Biggie, Snoop, Pac, LL Cool J, Andre 3000, Big Boi, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, damn near every member of Bone Thugs and a few others I can't think of right now before I'd put those guys down.

TheVirus - I don't even understand what your list is. It's obviously not top 10 of all time. Is it your top 10 currently? 10 random rappers you like who are relevant? I don't get it. Drake as the SECOND BEST RAPPER IN THE GAME? With all due respect, because I don't like to insult people for their opinions, but that's ****ing retarded. Drake is popular because women like him, that doesn't make him one of the top rappers alive today. Making a list off of who's relevant right now is stupid because Drake could easily be a nobody two years from now.

Also I have a problem putting J Cole over, well, just about anyone since he's never dropped an album. He does have some skills, but for someone who is so concerned about what rappers are relevant right now, you neglect the fact that J Cole's buzz has pretty much all but died. Putting him over someone comparable to him, like Big Sean, who actually has a hit single and an album about to drop, is kind of ridiculous. Especially since your #2 rapper Drake's whole style was ripped off from Big Sean.

Yes, my list is basically the top 10 rappers of today, or the new school as I put it. I stated in my original post that it's damn near impossible to create a list that fuses these new guys out today with the ones from yesteryear because rap has changed quite a bit since then, so I avoided them altogether. That's why I mentioned but didn't include guys like Busta Rhymes, Nas, Andre 3000 and the like who've been featured on songs or even put out albums recently, because I feel like they've carried over and could be considered old school.

I'll admit it's tough doing these rankings. I tried to include a decent amount of relevance (as you can see a lot of the people on the list have just became hot within the past couple years) but also wanted to include their past work as well (which is why Luda made the list). It's like ranking the best players at certain positions in sports. Say we were ranking the best RBs right now. Yeah, Arian Foster lead the league in damn near everything, but how many people would actually say he's the best running back in the league right now? At the same time a guy like Adrian Peterson who didn't even go for 1300 yards (although he did have 12 TDs) will pretty consistently be put in everyone's top 2... I'm not sure if this is making any sense to you so I'll just leave it at that.

To your Drake point, that's just preposterous. Have you ever listened to the man? I admitted that he sings a lot, but that shouldn't be used against him in a negative way. Look at Lil Wayne (Kanye too), his ass is always singing and autotuning, at least Drake is good at it. It seems to me based on his albums and mixtapes, he does about 50-50 rapping and singing, but he always does a great job rapping and most of all he has substance, unlike a lot of other rappers. Drake catches a lot of shit from hardcore rap lovers for singing, but any one of them that isn't hating will give him props for his rapping ability.

And I can feel where you're coming from about J.Cole. I didn't want to put him on this list for the fact that he hasn't released a studio album, but he's one of the few "underground" artists I've listened to and he's just too good to ignore. He's had three mixtapes, his most recent being released in Novemeber of last year but he's been getting regular radio play in my area (In the Morning, You Got It, and another track I forgot the name). Not to mention he'll be dropping his first studio album in September of this year. I'm not sure where you are or what you're doing but J.Cole's buzz has never been higher and his stock is going up.

Not sure what did it to them. I did an in-store with Bizzy Bone several years ago and he was an incredibly nice guy. They definitely could have been even more.

Flesh was in prison and bizzy had troubles and left to do his own thing. I've met layzie and he's hella cool but never met anyone else so I can't say.

Putting him over someone comparable to him, like Big Sean, who actually has a hit single and an album about to drop, is kind of ridiculous. Especially since your #2 rapper Drake's whole style was ripped off from Big Sean.

I'm also curious to hear more about this ripping of Big Sean's style you speak of. You say Drake is only popular because women like, and I'm assuming that's because he can sing, but I've never heard Big Sean sing. Also, anytime I've ever heard Big Sean rapping it's always about some random nonsense. He may have some substance but I'll just say that I haven't heard too much of it. Meanwhile Drake is always rapping about real shit, that's why I stated that he's one of the most relateable rappers out there. He raps about how his life has changed so much with the fame, relationships with family and friends, as well as the typical materialism and misogyny you'll hear from any other rapper... Honestly, although I disagree that Drake ripped his style off of Big Sean, even if he did I wouldn't give a damn because Drake has obviously perfected it and is doing it about a million times better than the so-called originator.
