Risk is low to medium for most of us today. Straight line winds could be brutal. Early on in supercell initiation, tornadoes are a definite threat. Dew points are mainly in the upper 50’s. Would like to see more juice. But, winds changing with height will likely be sufficient for a few tornadoes. Already have SLC’s in SW MO. Good luck to all.

Last year in March we had baseball sized hail in my Independence neighborhood. It did $14,000 in damage to two of my cars, and $25,000 to my roof. Yikes. Auto Owners Insurance paid it all but a $500 deductible. That's pretty great insurance.

I remember that shit, luckily we didn't get anything that big in this part of Independence.

Sirens went off last night, a little late and for nothing. You'd have been screwed if you were relying on them. I'm north of the river, and it was all very much to the south, by at least 20 miles.

Better they go off for nothing than not go off for something.

Seems to happen every year in Clay Co. I kept wondering why the sirens were blaring yet my weather radio cell phone and local news were not reporting anything in Clay county. Well small bit on fox4kc that the sirens were a mistake in Clay county. Good to know after the fact!
