View Full Version : Chiefs Claiming Players Off Of Opponents Practice Squads

Once we know who our opponent is for the playoff game, what's to prevent us from cutting Chad Hall or Powe (again) and snagging an offensive player off of their practice squad?

Bad karma, maybe, but shit, dis is a bidness. Squeeze him for all the inside info he has.

That would force the [Colts/Bengals/Patriots] to come up with new terminology, snap counts and audibles on less than a week's work, while also trying to game plan for a playoff game.

I'm curious why every team doesn't do this every single week.

You really think that it would cause a team to completely change their game plan? Seriously?

Are they so far removed from the 53-man roster that they aren't privy to anything worth hearing?

Not their full-on game plan, but maybe their snap counts and audibles, and general approach to certain situations. "This player hates when this happens, and so the team compensates by doing this instead"... etc...

I'm not saying it would make a world of difference, but in a game of inches, anything helps, no?

Even if it was a good idea (not saying it is) couldn't do it if we play Saturday game. "a practice squad player may not sign a player contract with his team's next opponent later than 4:00 p.m. on the sixth day preceding the game and tenth day during bye weeks."

I'm willing to bet they already know most of their opponents' snapcounts and audibles.

Interesting, good find.

Do we know when the 5 seed is slated to play yet?

You'd be pretty safe to go ahead and grab a Colt player this week.

I think this is most likely

The Jaguars tried that with Stanzi, didn't work out so well for them.

You just wait til Stanzi finely gets a fair shot. Then you'll see!!!!

Stanzi never got a real shot at playing in KC because Pioli was only interested in playing his players, but wait... Pioli drafted Stanzi, and he's not going to get a real shot in Jacksonville because of Henne and Gabbert, they are just too good.

Well the Chargers are trying it.
Opurum, a former Kansas star, was added to the Houston Texans' active roster, while Byrne joined the active roster of the San Diego Chargers ― the Chiefs' upcoming opponent.

Cause squeezing players for info is overrated. Especially a practice squad player. They're not even on the team to practice our plays. They're there to practice the opponents plays.

By this point you shouldnt have to resort to McDaniel like actions. Stay the course and don't rock the ship.

Just a hunch, but I'm guessing if they're on the opposing teams practice squad, they're probably not going to be the least bit involved with the game plan and probably won't have any worthwhile info to offer anyway.

There is some rule too, where you have to keep them on the active roster for a certain amount of time. I think its like 3 weeks or somethin?

some of these teams are so simplified (and shitty) you dont even need to pluck the practice player or squeeze info, just watch the film for how dumbed down a team's terminology is

There are more dumb teams in the NFL than there is Peyton Mannings.

Cant say I much care for that dick licker these days, he used to use a bit of humor and try to be a normal poster... not so much anymore.

Being a bottom dwelling butthole huffing fade fan has finally made him bitter.
