Hindsight, he might the right decision to not send him, because the catcher normally would had got that ball. Just unfortunate the ball got away from the catcher, but he wouldn't have known that beforehand anyways.

I understand clearly, it's many on here and you that do not. Let me clear some of this irrational thinking up here....

1st ... Markakis arm is not Gordon. Excellent player, but he is playing a different position, thus leading the catcher to field the ball and tag the runner from a different angle. The catcher is wondering if he should block the plate or wait to get the ball to look to see where the runner is. More things taking place from a different angle. Where as Gordon & his catcher has an advantage of the angle and the view of the runner, yet he has a smaller window to make a great throw due to the runner coming into view and causing the catcher to lose focus of the ball. Gordon has to make better throws in a smaller window than the right fielder has to. Gordon does a better job of throwing out runners in a tougher situation than Markakis does with a better angle to the plate. This makes Gordon a better fielder at throwing out runners than Markakis.

2nd ... The time to be aggressive on the base paths is early if you wish to force errors and push for the big inning. The 4th inning is much better than the 8th inning as the O's tried to pull off. Logical thinking is, you still have more game to score if you do not make it and the later innings leaves you with less time.

But hey, hindsight is 20/20, right. Anybody can play the game that many on here wish to play.

I am not going to brag on my experiences of baseball, but they do speak volumes of the training I had. I could set here and say I have forgot more about baseball than many on here has ever known, but I won't! I will only say that IMO the old style I was taught by the professional people I worked for or played for is what I played by in 4 baseball camps and 3 years of Ban Johnson ball. Both HC's I had were professional scouts that were employed by the Royals back in the mid 70's when Mr. K had the greatest baseball program for prospects in MLB.

You and many here can play your way, or as the Ned Yost way is, with weak hitters as our boys are, too laid back, awaiting for things to happen every inning instead of being aggressive early, forcing a big inning here or there and then playing it safe in the later innings when need to be.

Yep, hindsight is great, so here it is..... we should be tied right now, my way, the Carl Blando, Mike Boles way, whom was in the Whitey Herzog tree of coaching.

Excellent player with a better angle to the plate. As I stated, in the Herzog tree of coaching, you challenge that throw early in the game. You go for the big inning and try to force the defense into making throwing errors, even if he has a better vision from right field.

They are not the same. It is what it is.....

We have an anemic offense half the time, make somethings happen early in the game to change the outcome.

The only change this would have given us is extra innings, which we do not know the outcome at this time or ever will.

But how many fans on here would not like to see us a little more aggressive to help jump start the team ?

It's truly amazing the lack of power on this team. Not saying all these guys should be hitting 30+ HRs, but damn, they should all have more pop than this. They are better than this. Something is fundamentally wrong inside the organization for so many guys to be underperforming at the plate.

I'm to the point where I'd like to see a new GM, new manager and entire new regime come in and finish Dayton's work with these same players I don't think it's entirely the players fault.
