They out-skated, out-shot, out-passed and out-hit the Stars. It's pretty rare you see one team in the playoffs just completely outclass a quality opponent across the board like that.

And by the end of the game, it was just a whole lot of 'fuck you' plays. Backes' goal may as well have been a middle finger right to the Stars bench. Nothing fancy, nothing tricky, just a head to head completely unscreened missile right over Lehtonen's glove hand. How often has Backes ever whistled one past a goalie like that? Tarasenko's the only guy that can do it with regularity and even he usually uses some traffic and that lightning release to change an angle on the shot. Backes just flat overpowered Lehtonen.

And who didn't love Reaves pounding a bitch into the ice then blowing kisses to the Stars bench as he went to the locker room? McKenzie was talking shit in the 2nd period. First NHL game and he was trying to prove he belongs; thought he'd take on the biggest bully in the yard.

I didn't see the game but I can relate to this. My PeeWee team was handed an ass-kicking in large part because of being out-skated. All the kids, including mine, were simple slower to the puck and spent too much time in reverse.
