Should have been on the fucking horn as soon as Dorsey secured an interview.

You can have him for the low, low price of the #33 overall pick. We'll even throw in Daniel Sorensen to sweeten the deal.

If the OP is true, that is some colossal fail by NE trading him for a 2nd to SF. Wow.

It’s monumental incompetence, bordering on sabotage.

Makes me wonder if someone within the Patriots' machine (Kraft) is leaking damaging stuff to lead to the exit of BB.

No, BlackOp told us it was the NFL paying back li'l Shanahan or something for the SB last year. Something like that.

Many conflicting reports on this, but one report said BB wanted to send Jimmy G out of the AFC, which certainly makes some sense. Another (or perhaps the same one) said he favored SF as he liked Kyle Shanahan, having been friendly with his father, Shanarat.

One of the weirdest things about this whole thing, though, is BB taking less to trade a very good player. You would think he would have shopped him and made sure he was getting the best offer. Anything less isn't exactly "doing your job", and certainly odd behavior for BB.

OR, of course, there's some degree of Cleveland covering their asses by putting something out there that isn't true.

No way was Bill sending him to Cleveland. He hates Cleveland and it is in the AFC. So I am guessing Bill was not moving Grapollo to any AFC team. He probably made 1 call to the 49ers and did not mess around for wringing the last dollar/pick out of them.

He was not sending him to the Bills, Browns, Broncos or Jags.

I somehow doubt he was scared of playing Garappolo in the future

This just confirms the ESPN story. You don't want to hear that your parents have fallen out of love and hate each other as your dad is banging a cocktail waitress named Jade, but that's the reality.

The playoffs this year is your Christmas and I hope it goes smoothly. Patriots fans deserve the best due to their suffering.

As I've said many times before, all of Patriots Nation has been playing with house money for years. I'm totally fine with whatever happens. Never expected to see such an absurd run of success in my lifetime.

Don't think he hates Cleveland. Different owner, different GM, different everything since he left there 20 years ago. He's also done some trades with them over the past few years, so I don't think he holds any hard feelings.

Maybe, but I get the feeling that BB knew Grapollo is a special player and wanted no part of him in the AFC. I think there is more truth to the ESPN version of events which indicated BB was told by ownership to trade him. Getting some extra compensation above the 49ers offer of a 2nd was not worth having him in the AFC.

That’s a very reasonable take.

One possibility is that Bill’s loyalty was more with Garoppolo than the Patriots.

Yeah, and I would have drafted Brady in the 4th. Every GM in the world secretly loved the guy who hits in the draft the year after they're fired and go on TV.

Sashi Brown passed on taking a QB with a top pick multiple times yet we're supposed to believe he would give up the 4th pick and more to trade for a guy who's on an expiring contract.

If you're that scared of trading him to another AFC team, why trade him at all?

That doesn't fit with Belicheat's usual unsentimental approach to personnel moves.

If I’m in the Browns front office making up some fake story, why would I make one up that involves me grotesquely over-paying relative to the trade that actually happened?

BB isn't a sentimental guy. If he felt the Browns would give him the best deal then that is where he would send him.

He likely didn't know or inquire.

Browns absolutely do that deal. They have their QBOTF and the present, All in one deal. Leaving 1 open. Now they prob have to take Rosen and trade for a Vet. That sucks

Agreed that it's possible he wanted him outside of the AFC. Even if so, however, there may have been other NFC bidders.

Hard to know what to believe, but "in BB I trust" has worked for 18 years so I pretty much plan to stick with that.

If you're that scared of trading him to another AFC team, why trade him at all?

Because you can't really keep him. I mean, he's a FA after the season is over, so you either let him walk -- at which point he is choosign whatever team he wants (JETS?!) and you get nothing higher than a 3rd round pick in the 2019 draft, or you franchise tag him.

Franchise tag isn't really feasible. $25M for him, and another $15M for Brady is like 25% of your cap on two guys, plyaing the same position. As one Patriot capologist said, the Patriots COULD have kept both in 2018, but they could not have fielded a competitive team if they did.

So that leaves trade him before the trade deadline. Unless, of course, they traded or cut Brady and went all in with Jimmy-G.

That doesn't fit with Belicheat's usual unsentimental approach to personnel moves.

Right. But it doesn't take sentiment to hold onto a favorite to win the MVP this year, and the GOAT. But yes, usually he cuts bait one year too early, rather than a year too late, and if you think Jimmy G is a top 10 QB, then don't you make that move?

Sashi Brown is the source. He's not in the Browns front office, he's fired and looking for work. Also, everyone should hire him because he clearly knew Jimmy G was going to be a hit if he was willing to part with the 4th pick and "other goodies". eh

Brady sucks cock

I bet he loves slurping up belichicks splooge puddles

Speaking of splooge puddles who's gonna slurp up the qb cum slinger after Brady kicks the bucket? Tom Sawyer ? I doubt it. Maybe they need Alex Smith. He'd look good with cute little stars and stripes.
