Yeah, hips are delicate - arteries, blood clots, etc.
Hopefully they get this corrected for him ASAP.

Dumbass Saban kept him in game that wasn't in doubt. His press conference he said it was his last series and he was out just wanted to get him some reps in a 2 minute situation. What a lying asshole ruins the kis NFL future.

Even if he had an insurance policy, there is no telling how much future earnings in terms of NFL $$$ and endorsements he could potentially lose if this injury is career ending.

The last I checked, Jim Nagy isn't an orthopedic surgeon and avascular necrosis isn't something that can be diagnosed from the couch. He needs to shut the fuck up.

It's serious if they are doing it tonight. Serious from a health perspective and a future NFL career perspective is my guess. I'm sure they have learned a lot about the Bo Jackson injury(assuming here that this is what it is) and that surgery is immediate to keep the blood flowing to the hip bone.

This is one reason why I believe that college athletes should be allowed to receive any endorsements they are offered and make money off of their own talent and likeness.

He probably would have been one of the first QBs selected in the draft, ya? Not anymore.

Damn. That really sucks. I feel really bad for him. Hope he can still play in the league a few years.

Not to be a pessimist, but I don’t think he was destined to stay in the league for long anyway. Look at all the minor injuries (previous to this) that have mounted in such a short time at a great program...now imagine him playing for a dumpster fire like the Dolphins.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for him. Maybe he’ll recover, but it’ll hurt his stock enough for him to fall to a better situation?

Not watched a whole lot of his tape but Colin Cowherd was calling him "the left handed Russell Wilson" the other day and it's not a bad comparison tbh. Tua really looks like a good prospect and I hope he makes a full recovery. When Pat went down we all feared the worse and look how that turned out? With the sort of medical staff Tua has around him I'm sure he'll be fine. The QB class just got interesting I guess...if Tua recovers does he still go first or has Burrow and Herbert jumped ahead? Someone drafting lower might strike gold tbh.

I read the post, and it's still stupid.

We were on tenterhooks with the Mahomes situation because he was on the turf with a messed up leg and we DIDN'T HAVE INFORMATION.

Mahomes turned out OK because dislocated knees have the possibility of turning out OK.

hip dislocations with anterior fractures don't turn out 'like Pat,' no matter how good the medical staff.

He may recover and may even eventually thrive, but he has a much more serious injury. WE HAVE THAT INFORMATION.

This injury is actually worse than Bo Jackson's. Bo didn't have a fracture he just had a dislocation & that immediately went back into place on its own. What got him was avascular necrosis that followed afterward, which causes the death of bone & cartilage. He never had surgery until the damage was so bad he had to have hip replacement.

Tua had a dislocation and fracture. Hopefully not the end of the world as he's having surgery tonight.

Brett Favre actually had avascular necrosis in his hip from an injury he got at the east-west shrine game. He played ~20 yrs in the NFL, still runs marathons, and has yet to have hip replacement:

Last year lots of camera shots of his parents. I almost was beginning to feel I knew them. This year haven’t seen a single one. Did they upset the camera man? Thoroughly enjoyed the interview last year when Tua explained how his dad beat him every time he messed up on the field. Hope the hip wasn’t a byproduct of those beatings.
