Could end up fucking OSU pretty hard. Wade is a borderline 1st round corner, which is saying alot lining up across from a top 5 guy in Okudah...

I don't think I'd ever classify a QB out of Ohio State, with the system they run, as even NFL backup material.

Lawrence, I think, needs another year but he'll be a top-5 pick.

I've always felt like TD rules should apply everywhere. If control and a foot down is a TD going out of the endzone it should be a catch anywhere else.

I think if that pass play were to happen in the end zone where the receiver takes two steps and then gets the ball knocked out they'd call it a TD.

I dunno... OSU isnt all that quick strike. Two plays make an entire football game. Kinda fucked up. Take one of the top corners in the country out of the game because??? and then reverse a legit call on the field. I can't really get past the Wade call at all. Clemson was suffocated with he and Okudah just eliminating the receivers entirely. It made the entire difference in this football game. Add in the fumble reversal and the game is just shit. Even if OSU somehow wins, it killed the season for me.

Yep. These were two of the best defenses in the country and neither offense is a slouch. LSU doesn't have half the defense either of these teams has, but that offense is pretty impressive. Clemson has all they need to cover LSU's weapons though, so it'll be interesting. I thought Ohio State had even more, but the refs made sure to eject one of them and change the entire game. In any event, I think LSU has their hands completely full and if I had to bet on a team to win it'd be Clemson.

I read in this thread the exact same thing about tOSU fisting Clemson.

Osu out coached and outplayed Clemson. They got out executed. Clemson just had more experience. Dobbins and fields messed up a putaway td on two occasions. The targeting call was a gamechanger.

Then you have the punt penalty, the zebra botched fumble call, and the olave route cutoff. Which could have been momentum shifters.

Pretty crazy to have 6 separate plays that were so wide open that simply were not executed. Clemson didn't really have any of these plays and that was the big difference.

Oh sure they did. Losing gap integrity on Dobbins' TD run, bad holding penalties on OSU's penultimate drive, overpursuit on screens on the last drive, and others.

Oh sure they did. Losing gap integrity on Dobbins' TD run, bad holding penalties on OSU's penultimate drive, overpursuit on screens on the last drive, and others.

My point is you can often point to 1 or 2 game changers or momentum shifters in a game... If you're lucky. All 6 of those plays were gigantic. Either of those fields Dobbins missed connections hits and tOSU wins the game by the first half. Targeting was THE obvious gamechanging moment of the game. Olave miscue looked like it would have been a gamewinner. These weren't just scoring miscues. These are 4 plays that by itself you could argue were Dee Ford offsides level of gamechangers. Any of those plays arguably seals the game.

That's not even getting into the punt penalty and fumble TD. Which were massive in themselves. Not game sealers but mistakes that cut TWO ways - they not only nullified a key defensive stop, they also erased likely 2 scoring opportunities. Those are 10-14 point swings.

You're right. Poor officiating in that game too. With 2 minutes left in the game, gamble gets his jersey tugged on twice then makes a first down catch. Refs called no penalty, no catch. Osu should have gone into victory formation with no need for overtime.

I’m starting to doubt my Bama pick. And having a strong desire to bet Clemson. SEC looks like trash so far in their first couple bowls. Florida defense is awful. Took everything they had to beat a one man Virginia team that Clemson disemboweled.

Yeah, I'd bet on Alabama just because Michigan seems to choke in big games with Harbaugh... but Alabama has definitely laid a couple eggs over the years in bowl games that weren't playoff games.

Last time Alabama had one of these they were something like a 17 point favorite against Oklahoma, and the Sooners beat them by two touchdowns.

They can be drafted

From an article dated 11/14/19

Defense Secretary Mark Esper has opened the door for athletes at the nation’s military academies to play professional sports after they graduate, and delay their active-duty service.

Esper signed a memo last Friday laying out the new guidelines, which says the athletes must get approval from the defense secretary, and it requirea them to eventually fulfill their military obligation or repay the costs of their education.

The memo, obtained by The Associated Press, came at the insistence of President Donald Trump, who directed the Pentagon in June to come up with a way to allow athletes to play professional sports immediately upon graduation. Trump gave the Pentagon four months to develop the new policy.

Allowing athletes to delay service has been a hotly debated issue. The Obama administration put a policy in place allowing some athletes to go to the pros and defer their military service.

That's pretty cool then. I would imagine if someone like the navy qb got drafted then they would have enough money to pay back the cost of their education pretty quickly if they decided to go that way instead of delaying their service.

Thanks for posting

You're welcome.

Yeah, a top tier draft pick could pay back their education pretty quickly.

Teams could always draft a player from one of the academies, they just couldn't play immediately. i.e. Roger Staubach for example. They had to fulfill their service requirements first.

Ken****y likes to run the ball. They're gonna wear VA Tech down early.

1. Kentucky has made a bowl game 4 years in a row and has won 10 and 8 games the past 2 seasons.

2. They won 6 games this year with playing a WR at QB.

3. They’ve been able to run the ball with said WR at QB because he’s not great passing.

4. What Kentucky did was insane.

Lynn Bowden will be playing in the NFL next season and will be very fun to watch.

They scored 20 points, including some short fields.

And that means they didn't make good adjustments to start the 2nd half? They did, early in the 2nd half it was pretty clear they had made some offensive adjustments to attack the outside of the Oregon defense and they were moving the ball because of it.

There's no doubt their offense sputtered in the 4th quarter, although that one offensive OPI hurt them. Still, when about a third of your drives end in turnovers you're going to be lucky to win, let alone score many points. They ended up possessing the ball for 38 minutes but had way too many turnovers and a missed FG.
