Great player at his peak. Smart to walk away at this point too. I'll never forget seeing him hysterically crying when he suffered that concussion.

Dude has had his fair share of concussions. Honestly I’m happy for him.

It’s definitely a tough break for Matt Rhule though.

Yeah if you've already made generational money and have concussion issues, no reason to keep playing and fuck up your future even more. Sucks but it's the smart decision.

Great player at his peak. Smart to walk away at this point too. I'll never forget seeing him hysterically crying when he suffered that concussion.

I may have shared this already, but I was stuck in a trauma center a few years back and they rushed in this guy who'd fallen off a roof. Only a curtain between us so I heard the doctor run through his tests then told him he had a severe concussion and they'd hold him for observation. Doctor left and this dude called a presumed loved one and broke down sobbing telling them the doctor told him he had cancer. I was there for a broken neck yet felt terrified for this dude. Like his brain was scrambled but still reacting in a way that he convinced the person on the other line he was dying. Concussions, man.

Kuechly realizes that he'll never get a Super Bowl with Patrick Mahomes II in the league, so he's throwing in the towel. Smart move.

This isn't going to cause anything. It's the same thing people said after Patrick Willis retired. It didn't start some mass exodus.

I was hoping the Chiefs would've taken him in the draft at the time.

He was a stud, but too many hits you gotta think of your health for the long term.

He's made a good living, i'm sure he will get a great job in the sporting world perhaps if that is still want he wants to stay in that field.

Guess he isn’t on the Matt Rhule hype train.

When you suffer from getting concussions too easily and have no QB and the only other playmaker on your team is McCaffrey your health will not endure a rebuild that is for sure.

Indirectly Luck's retirement made it a little easier to do this because you know he did not want to retire and truly loves the game BUT your health is of prime importance and he knew it.

Been listening to the talking heads debating on his HOF creds - both pro and con. Have to say, both sides have been making some pretty good points. More balanced than I thought they would (expected it to be 90-10 for HOF).
