It really wasn't that bad of a game.
I mean sure Dishman got burnt. But when was the last game he didn't get burned? Other tahn Dishman getting burned there is nothing else really wrong with th is game.

You guys can't really expect that Grbac will do the same thing again. If that was a real game... I don't think that he would have done the same thing.

Also the Chiefs didn't want to show their redzone offense... So I say the conservatism isn't really an issue. Its hard enough scoring in the redzone as it is... and the Chiefs were among the league leaders in rezone scoring last year. Listening to the game myself has been better than having it reported to me from you guys. because I cn see that everyone is making a mountain out of a mohill.

Roger,

I don't think anyone here is over reacting.

There is another bb set up just for that purpose. LOL

I do agree that there were far more positives in this game than negatives.

Yeah...This BB is going to be the positronic matter, to the blatant ANTI-MATTER of the other BB.

Welcome to the positive material plane...

As for the molehill, I just got totally Bummened on all the Negative energy http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/frown.gif

Glad to be on the "good" side.

Having been at the game I was bummed by some things. Most of all our new punter and KO specialist. If he can't get some more hang time we'll be giving our opponents good field position all the time. It's also safe to say Collins was terrible so we're in trouble if Grbac goes down.

Still, it's just preseason.

I'm not at all concerned about Collins. It was one game. He's been a starter in this league and will do just fine IF we have to use him.

I too thought the hang time on the punts was low, but the fact that he can get KO's in the endzone is a much needed sight.

Speaking of positives: who else thinks that Grbac's bootleg was a positive? He actually ran a PLANNED bootleg to the LEFT for a first down! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

htismage,

I can't say that about the KOs, because they were line drives. Notice how they still got out to the 20-30 yard line?

Are the Cowboy fans cryin' as much about thier pre-season as some of our fans are crying about ours??

I read the Dallas Morning News online every morning, and yes they are crying, very similar to some Chief fans. No defense, poor coverage, but they actually like their rookie kicker. On the day after a game, they get to grade their performance in about 7 different areas, after the Denver game, they gave a couple C's, mostly D's, and they gave ST and coaching F's. Sound familiar.

Collins wasn't good, but FWIW, I'd still take him over Frerotte, Foley, Hoying or Leaf (the latter two could overtake him though). We are still in a pretty good situation at QB IMO.

My biggest complaint on Sat's game vs Jags...

Knowing they'd be blitzing and not turning the table and giving them a dose of their own medicine...granted KC got 7 sacks...but it should've been 20...

What a better time to work on blitz schemes and defensive pressure than by turning the dogs loose. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif

Homer,

We did blitz. Remember that TD where Dish got burnt, both safeties were blitzing. That's why he's an idiot for biting on that juke and letting his man get behind him. I think that's what Gun referred to when he said "we corrected the situation".

It probably went something like this:
"You @#%#@#, I can't believe you *(&$#@!!!!! Stop @#$#@ trying to freelance and play the $#@%$ coverage we call!!!!"

Dishman looked horrible last night, and other preseason games. But on the bright side, Jimmy Smith has been doing that all preseason. He burnt Jason SeHorn when they played the Giants and he burnt the corner he faced when playing the Panthers. I think we need to just stop doing all-out blitzes on third and long. We get burned every time. Maybe two or 3 players blitzing is good, but don't leave aging Dishman alone against one of the best receivers in the league.
