Bob Dole doesn't think any of us are totally convinced at this pooint, but it's a whole lot better than the "pick your favorite" power rankings that place KC squarely in the middle of the NFL pack.

Of course, they have winless New England at 10, ahead of Baltimore, Jacksonville, Buffalo and Tennessee. Not sure what Bob Dole thinks, but Joe Belt thinks it's a little off.

How did that system come up with the Jets being behind the Bucs? The Jets are undefeated & beat Tampa on their home field? I wonder if they're using the same method that the people who do the BCS rankings do.

There's no way Bob Dole would put KC at #4. Probably closer to 12th at this point...

Bob Dole just thought it was interesting.

This Power ranking is just another ugly step child of Ryan Early from SportsTalk.com. He uses some weird formulas to come up with rankings. Funny thing is, the Chiefs usually are near the top of his rankings. I think it has something to do with defensive TDs and turnovers.

Colts at the top, Bungles at the bottom, Chiefs ahead of the Faiders...looks pretty accurate to me.

The new Sagarin ratings (a much more respectable and useful rating system) are out and KC has moved up to 13th.

Here is CBS Sportsline's power rankings. It's not updated from last week. Looks like the sportswriter will have to eat his words about Elvis and the Chiefs.

Go Chiefs!

The Masey ratings have us at #12. I think his system is pretty good. His rating system is part of the Bowl Championship selection process. I will be using a simpler version of his rating system in my play-off prediction program this year. I should have the first round of predicitions regarding playoff probabilities ready by the end of the week (fair warning has been given).
